The concept is great.  The issue is how to get the provider community to use it.

Why don't they just allow providers to assign a number to the guys they see? You know, 1-10 for appearance and 1-10 for performance. Just like we all do to them. Oh no, we wouldn't like that at all.

I think its a great idea as well.  What a better way for providers to verify someone is who they say they are then hearing from a fellow provider.  I agree with jmb though, it will be a bit of a challenge to get providers to use it.  Unless of course the hobbyist asks them to put something on there on their behalf, like some providers ask to have a review done.

I know there are a LOT of providers who ask specifically NOT to have a review done, but there is no harm is asking, and its between the provider and the hobbbyist.

No we would not.  Our behavior and financial satisfaction should be the only things considered in a composite endorsement.

First TER needs to identify the reasoning for having a White List?  Once that is known that will determine the results and the reasoning be met and achieved.

I find a White List to be semi-beneficial, in that it provides some assistance to a provider in her research on a hobbyist.  That is if they 1) use this board, and are active on this board.

It also provides a false sense of security to a provider as well, and that is a danger in having it.

If I was a poster like "Sly" with over 100 reviews written why would I need an endorsement, and now what is a lady to think when I see a poster like "Sly" with over 100 reviews and no endorsements?

Then EasyEnough comes along, dates 2-3, Indi's that are well know in South Florida, yet post very little on this board, I asked them in return for a review if they will register to endorse me.  

So now EasyEnough has 3 endorsements by no names, and I myself is not well know but some Visiting Lady sees I have some endorsements.

I also do not see how this will work with some sort of real identity information being provided by the Hobbyist for the provider to use....

A Screen Name is a "Virtual" entity?  Unless TER, and all parties involved in establishing a date connection do so at the initial stages through this board software to establish some credibility that I am who I say I am, and that would be EasyEnough.

Not being a naysayer, but TER and Admin's are going to need strong governance to effectively use this tool to achieve the results that I assume they are looking to achieve.

Again without a stated purpose to why, I can only assume its intended purpose.

What happens when lazy providers (those who don't take the time to properly screen) start to rely on this "white list".  I can see it now... "Before I can see you, I need to know your TER handle for screening".  "I'm sorry, but you're not on the white list, so I can't meet with you".

Personal identifying info, work phone #s, home  phone #s, Cell phone #s, reliable provider references... and now a "White list"??? I think enough is enough already.

As far as the quote... "TER and Admin's are going to need strong governance to effectively use this tool to achieve the results that I assume they are looking to achieve."  The results they are hoping to achieve is simply selling more memberships and are using this as part of a marketing ploy to give "extra perks" for the cost of a membership. Eventually the site will be cluttered with banner ads too.

The "white list" may make for great marketing, but for screening purposes, it will not be very effective.
