It Finally Happened

Hey, I just wanted to vent a little and tell you what happen to me last night. I got stiffed, and not in a good way...

First let me say, I know, I’m an idiot, I must be the most naive escort on the planet.  But this guy had a great reference, which I checked out.  He also said he was whitelisted on TER with a VIP ID, though I didn’t ask what his user name was, and his email doesn’t pull it up…again, I know, I know, Im an idiot for not checking…

So, we were emailing back and forth, we set a date for last night up on LA…I was more than happy to make the 3 hour (bc of traffic) drive up from SD, he also had me get the room ($150), which again, I didn’t mind…he also asked that I order up champaign when I got to the room, luckily they didn’t have any so I just let it go…

When he got there he was SO nice, we really hit it off, I didn’t ask for the money 1st, big mistake, I know.  We went round one, and then we were just talking, getting to know each other…I really liked him, he was just a typical nice guy...then he got a phone call that sounded like work, he said it was really important that he fax something and that he needed to use the hotels business center.  He said he would be right back and we would go for round two.  

It’s one of those things, where, in the moment it makes total sense, but it hindsight it’s obviously ridiculous.  I mean, who leaves a session half way through to fax something; it couldn’t wait 20 more minutes?  Of course I realize this now, but at the time, it never even dawned on me that I was being ditched, it all happened to fast…

I waited over an hour for him to come back, he didn’t.  I tried calling him but his phone was off, texts went unreplied as did an email.  So I just drove 2 hours back to San Diego.

As I got close to SD, about 3 hours after he had left the room, I got three texted from him that read something like “dani??? Did you get my message about what happen?? I had to run to my office, I’ll be right back!”  But this was three hours later, why hadn’t he just called me? I texted him back a few times, tried calling (his phone always goes right to VM), I sent another email when I got home but he has yet to respond, except for those mysterious texts. Like a moron, I actually believed his text too, I thought oh no, I didn’t wait long enough…but a friend of mine says he was just effing with me…I don’t know what to think…

But I wonder, why make me drive up from SD, why request that I book a high end hotel in Beverly Hills, why ask for champaign, why put me out so much?

*I guess I should just count my blessing, I mean, it could always be worse…and in all the time that I’ve been escorting I’ve never, not even once, been in a bad situation, or been stiffed like this, I guess it was just bound to happen…

*I feel that being trustworthy is so important in this business, for the clients as well as the escorts…Ive always prided myself on being honest, trusting, & trust worthy…I even gave a client $400 back when I was in NYC, I realized he had overpaid me & I went out of my way to met up with him the next day & return it..

I feel so stupid…

Anyway, I guess I just wanted to vent…also, I remember this site that I was a member of, a long time ago…it was a site for escorts only and girls would post about bad clients, and guys to stay away from…but I can’t remember the name of the site…I would really like to let them know so that another girl doesn’t get scammed…Or if anyone knows other ways I can spread the word about this guy, id appreciate it.

No need to beat a dead horse here, you made several big mistakes,,,, but that is why there should be requirements, I don't walk accross the street unless I have verified the individual and received my  deposit, this weeds out the boys from  the men..

It does suck what happened to you. Look at the upside, like you said, it could have been much worse. He could have been violent. Like someone else mentioned trust your instinct. If your driving 3 hours to get there putting in the work and effort at the very least have him wire you 50% percent of the donation fee so you can tell he is legit. Have your own little ways of additionally checking to know someone is legit and sane. You can't really go with the flow just because of what we do.  

Another thing there is no such thing as a "nice guy" there are "normal" guys and guys pretending to be "nice".

He finally texted me this afternoon...saying it was all just a big misunderstanding...

i say no problem, you can mail me a check, money order, cash, or western union me the money..

at first he says that discretion is an issue...

I say, no problem you can western union without giving your info, same with a money order...

he says, well i really like you, why dont we just meet up again next time your in LA...

i say that i can drive back up to LA tonight and meet him...this goes back and forth a while...i finally ask him, do you plan on paying me, or not...

he says how dare I speak to him & disrespect him that way...

disrespect him I ask, you're the one who didn't pay me...

then he says, why do you keep talking about money, i left the money for you at the hotel...

i said, what are you talking about, there was no money...

then say says, so you're calling me a liar? nice! then he calls me some names and tells me to get off drugs...(im not on drugs by the way)...

Im just so upset about this whole thing, why is his effing with me?  Im so glad that I know that 99% of you guys aren't like this, but this 1%, its given my trust level a huge beating...

I'm a total noob, to hobbying, which means I have a reference portfolio to buildup. Sure having references is standard, the higher quality provider u want, the more references u need. See this isn't a "maybe" for me, by fall 2011 I want to see at least one honest to God pornstar. By the fall I need to have enough quality good references and verified to do this. why will TER not allow you to publish a name? if TER lets "bad reviews" etc about a provider then surely a provider should let the rest of the providers ken about bad handle on TER?

Sorry to hear about your experience.  First, I am glad that you are OK.  Money can and will be replaced.  Your health and safety cannot.  Second, do NOT change who U are.  It is easy to become bitter and start taking it out on your future clientelle.  Do this and U have been victimized again.  Third,  from your post it sounds like you are ready to put into place protections to lessen the probability that this happens again.  He will get what is coming to him.  By now I am sure other members have guided U to the site that U have inquired about.

Keep your head up Dani  Nice to know that there other nice honest people out there in this world!

Don’t worry; I won’t let this change the way I provide, Im still going to give 100%, but I am going to tighten up my screening a little, maybe instead of just emailing another provider I will require a call, to voice verify its actually her and not just the client that has created that email address…and of course, money first, hanky panky second…

I still haven’t been able to get the name of that site, for providers only, to warn each other about clients…if anyone knows, please email me…

Dani.  What he said!  Don't let it change you too much.  You sound like a total sweetheart.  I've admired you for years and someday when you're in NY...well, I can dream, right!  Look at it this way; it was a shitty experience but your nice post about it made you a lot of friends.

I don't understand why some guys are saying don't take it out on the good guys.  This is a business, and a lady needs to protect herself,  why any lady would visit ANYONE without verifying who they are seeing is simply beyond me.  It takes a few minutes to verify someone, what seems to be the problem?

Just because you exchange e-mails, and phone calls,,,, remember Ted Bundy, he was intelligent and did not fit the profile of a serial killer, most sweet talkers are the ones to be worried about.

I don't think she will be unfair in the future, but hopefully more careful.  Verification certainly can't tell anyone if the guy you are meeting is a nice guy or not, but I GUARANTEE you that you are in a much better situation having known who the heck you are going behind close doors with.

Asking to verify someone and requiring a deposit is not in anyway "taking it out the the good guy" it is simply the smart way to conduct yourself.

Thanx Kathy...can you elaborate on what you mean "verify" clients...do you mean get and check references, or do you mean verify them through a website?  I am very interested...

Every lady has different requirements, me I have a booking form that includes the the following request for information.

Full legal name:

Ter handle if he has one:

Place of employment and phone number to the main switch board.

If he doesn't want to provide you with his employment information then I require
that he provides me with the e-mail of another Porn Star or local provider that I know who he said he has seen, so I can then verify him through that process.

If he doesn't want to provide the above then we don't meet.

I also usually require a deposit if we have not already met.

I realize that this can be difficult and you may lose potential friends, but your safety is the main factor, then comes your peace of mind and your time.

hun, i know a lot of providers that verify by using personal information such as work and work numbers for references.  to be clear the work number must be answered by a front desk or personal work (no cell phones).  they usually do it very classy by just asking for the person then once they answer just be like..your work has been verified.  i hate that you had this experience.  you've always been one of my favorite performers.  i can't wait for the chance to meet you myself.

...you are so beautiful and so hot, that I get extra pissed off about it.  But even if you weren't, no one deserves to be treated like that.  Feel very sorry for you.

These are the 3 top websites that have been around a while and are widely used that escorts use to report bad clients to.  Put his information on all three sites.  

There's also a "Providers Only" board on www.theeroticreview.com where you can do a post about what happened without revealing his info but you can say girls can email you for his info. Email [email protected] with your TER username and your TERid.  Put "Provider Only Board Access" in the subject line. You need to send the email from your email address on your TER profile.

Guys like this fuck it up for us all.  You don't deserve this.

this reminds me of the time a  PSE provider, whom i'll not out here because they still provide now and then, pulled a similar stunt by asking for the money upfront and then stalled by doing her makeup over and over before getting  a phone call and saying that there was a mix up about this guy waiting in the lobby and how he was this well known hobbyist and she really needed to do the appointment and could i come back tomorrow. Of course when i said no problem and just give me my cash back she didn't want to give the money back. i did get half back but she wouldn't give anymore. after i left i waited in the hall for this special appointment that was suppose to be on his way up. thirty minutes later he still hadn't showed. I tried calling the provider the next day to makeup the appointment and guess what, she never returned any calls- surprise surprise. half my cash gone. let me say just in case there is some misassumption that this wasn't ms. woodward but i'm saying  it happens both ways. and there was no board to blacklist her, at least none that i knew of then. unfortunately it's part of this "hobby." it was one of the experiences that made me stop seeing PSE's. again a bad experience but it's not just the hobbyist that pull these stunts. i understand the need to vent cause when i read such a post as i feel the need to vent about it happening to hobbyist as well. again an unfortunate part of the hobby.

I've had a long and successful career in this hobby without EVER being ripped off!!

Most of the good information is passed via back channels and not so much in plain sight. Peeps with better connections get better results, just like life in general.

Like I said, I have been a member of this board for over 5 years I have been one of the top rated PS's on this board, with my reviews to back me up.

I have NEVER had a bad experience, because I know who I am meeting, and what they are expecting from our time together, due to this board.

If anyone does their homework, you usually don't have problems, depending on both the hobbyest and the provider.  I am shocked how little people research who they are seeing.
