DENNIS Hopper is at deaths door after his cancer spread to his bones, according to a shocking new report.

The Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now, Blue Velvet and Hoosiers star  who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in September 2009  is reportedly telling pals hes ready to die now that hes completed his final wish by finishing filming on his TV series Crash.

Dennis has come to grips with the fact that the end is likely near, a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

He knew going into the last weeks of filming Crash that he was on borrowed time. His doctors had told him they were no longer able to contain the disease, and his condition had severely worsened.

Dennis missed three days on the set due to dehydration, but then he came back, got back on his mark and faced the camera. Really, it was some of the best acting hes ever done.

Dennis has also managed to finish editing a 546-page book of photographs taken by him, said another source.

Dennis calls the book his legacy, and hes glad to see it completed, confided the insider.

He knows the end is near, but hes still the consummate professional that hes always been. Dennis has gotten his affairs in order and said his goodbyes.

Hopper's life has been very colorful. He's always offered wonderful contributions to art and culture. As an actor, a photographer, a painter, a film maker - his passing will be a loss on the contemporary arts and culture community.

Yes, the finger up the rear end is only there for 5 to at most 20 seconds in my experience and ain't that uncomfortable.  Also there's the PSA test and such.

Interestingly, I recently heard a well known radio show doc discussing prostate cancer, and rather to my surprise he indicated that MOST of it is quite treatable, and often it's rather benign without treatment.

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Dendreon Corp (DNDN.O) expects to reach full manufacturing capacity for experimental prostate cancer drug Provenge by mid-2011, and will immediately launch sales of the drug when it is approved by U.S. regulators, the company's chief executive said on Monday.

The best advice you can get. I get a physical every year and both the finger and PSA tests are part of it. Better to find out if something is there and deal with it than to avoid testing out of fear. Also, get that colon test if you are over 50. These diseases have a very high cure rate if caught early.
