Another way to look at is that the clubs need to bring in the features to attract customers.

I saw Charmane Star in LA a few weeks ago.  It wasn't overly crowded (not like when Tera Patrick was there about 2 years ago).  Charmane was VERY hot.  

I WISH either of them provided!

Your economics is flawed....

Porn stars are dancing because the porn industry is in the dumps and dancing is a way to make money until things improve. Strip clubs aren't doing so well either, so I don't know if it'll help all that much.

Strip Clubs are not doing good at all. I have learned from a few club owners in the SFV, they might be closing if the economy does not improve.
The economy is not the only factor hurting strip clubs, Craig's list is the other.  

They are only doing PSE features and coupons again to get guys back in there.  But with some PSE asking for higher appearance fess, it is still not cost effective for them.

With the porn industry tanking, these girls need alternative sources of income, and I'm guessing they've lowered their appearance fees substantially if strip clubs are booking them again.  

In the hey-day of the pornstar feature dancer, many of them commanded thousands and thousands of dollars for an appearance.  Sadie Sexton told me she asked and received $350/show, meaning every time she went on stage she put $350 in her pocket, plus tips.  Three shows a night, $1050.  Four shows, $1400. Add that to the Poloroids, autographed DVD and poster sales (all of which the girl kept herself) and it was good money.  Sadie told me that even as a house dancer at the Crazy Horse in Vegas, on a good weekend night she could walk out with $5000 in her pocket.  

Strippers use to do porn JUST to become pornstar feature dancers.  That's where the real money was... not the $1000 they got for spending 8 hours on a hot set fucking strangers.  Both Devon and Gina Lynn were house dancers at Al's Diamond Caberet in my old town Reading Pa.  Jenna Jameson used to dance there often and recruited them into the porn business.  Say what you want about Jenna, but apparently she had an eye for hot women!  But those days are long gone.

The strip clubs owners finally realized that they could make as much or more by just having really hot house dancers... they might do less volume than when a pornstar was appearing, but their profits were higher.

So my guess is that the pornstars are dancing for cheap just to get the ancillary sales after she comes off stage.

BTW, I don't know if it's still the same, but the guy who owned Ninnworx (after basically stealing it from Michael Ninn) also owned the Spearmint Rhino chain, and part of the deal with his Ninnworx contract girls was that they danced exclusively at the Rhino clubs, and that was included in their contract so they didn't get paid extra for their dance appearances there. (Which is, besides him treating them like shit, one of the reason he lost all of his big name stars).

Payback's a bitch though.  He married Dyanna Lauren, and after she got him to turn the clubs over to her, she dumped him!

They are touring because GFE/PSE rates are way down, customers are fewer if at all and it isnt changing anytime soon.  Don't buy into what all the politicians are telling us or the real estate agents..Clif are laying government workers and Sony just reported $1B loss for the quarter. We have a loonngg way to go..
