Hmmm, but there's still:
* Chlamydia
* Genital Warts
* Gonorrhea
* Hepatitis B
* Herpes
* Syphilis
* Vaginitis
all of which can be tranmitted orally. (Thanks to the Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation site for the info.)
You may not care, but your wife or loved one may care if you brought that home!
Peace, have fun and be safe.
Here is a University of California study that shows there is a ZERO percent of contracting the HIV virus from swallowing semen. Keisha is right!!

UCSF study finds no cases of HIV transmission from receptive oral sex
No cases of HIV transmission through unprotected receptive oral sex were found by researchers at UCSF's Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS) in a new study. The study looked at men who have sex with men and who exclusively practice oral sex as the receptive partner.
"HIV infection through receptive oral sex is a very rare event--statistically our study showed a probability of zero--and is rarer than HIV infection through receptive anal intercourse using a condom," said the study's lead author Kimberly Page Shafer, PhD, MPH, assistant professor of medicine at UCSF's CAPS. The findings are being published in the November 22, 2002 issue of AIDS.
The study enrolled 239 men who have sex with men starting in 1999 from anonymous testing and counseling sites in San Francisco. The participants reported no anal or vaginal sex and no injection drug use in the six months prior to entering the study. The participants reported a median of three partners with whom they had been the receptive partner for oral intercourse and ninety-eight percent reported unprotected receptive oral intercourse. Twenty-eight percent knew their partner was HIV-infected and of those, thirty-nine percent swallowed ejaculate.
"If you compare our group, which practiced oral sex exclusively, with men who engaged in receptive anal intercourse from the same testing sites during a similar time period--and considering both those who reported using protection and those who did not--you find significant HIV transmission even among those who used protection during receptive anal intercourse," said Shafer.
The participants were screened for HIV infection and also for recent HIV infection using both the standard test for HIV and a test for HIV that is "detuned" to detect only those HIV infections that have occurred within the six months prior to taking the test.
"Although this study is the first to try to systematically define the risk, case reports exist of HIV infections acquired through oral contact. While rare, acquiring HIV infection orally is possible and many other sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis are transmitted orally," said Shafer.
The study is ongoing and the researchers will amend the findings with greater numbers.

Hate to burst your bubble but I think you are dreaming if you think because of one study, all the stars are going to suddenly change their sexual practices. Besides HIV is not the only concern. There is also the issue of what some people are comfortable doing and not doing period...
It is nice to know however that these type of studies are coming out. I myself just recently got tested for all the prevelant sexual diseases and the testing service recommended that I save my money and not bother to have the HIV test because he thought it was a waste. That the chances of getting HIV through either BJ or Daty was astronomically remote...
Let's all remember what a very wise man said on this subject...."Sweetheart, you can't get pregnant if it's on your face!"

I know I'm going against the grain here, but, many of these sites, including AIM's are full of misinformation. Actually, the CDC itself (where many of these people get their info) has been distributing misinformation.
But, that aside, most of the named diseases above, plus others are also transmittable by kissing, sex (including oral) with condoms, and other activities.
The only *completely safe* activity is abstinence. Oral sex with or without condoms, intercourse with or without condoms and kissing all have the same level of risk for all diseases including AIDS. If you're not a recreational drug user, and you have a health immune system, the chances are very low that you'll get anything.
On the other hand, anal (especially without condom) is high risk.
I know there are skeptics reading this group but the information is out there for anyone who wants to learn the truth about sexually transmittable diseases...
Please find me the stats that show the level of contraction of aids from Oral sex last year between two heterosexuals??
You can't. There are different levels of risks for different behaviors. Yes abstincence is the only full safe protection from contracting any sexual diseases, then again that is not totally true. Hepitatis which can now be spread sexually can also be caught through other means.
THe risks are absolutely lower for unprotected oral sex then unprotected vaginal sex. Call any treatment center...
I think we do a disservice to:
* The Ladies
* Other Hobbyists, do unto others, friends, and don't be so selfish and
* To Ourselves...
if we don't , don't protect ourselves and know the truth about STDs. This topic is not discussed a lot on these boards because, of course, it's all about fantasy. But as a hobbyist who cares about the ladies, their health and mine, I make it a point to be safe in my dealings, get tested and read up on the latest information.
You're wrong to say that "chances are very low" that you will catch anything. A lot of hobbyists think that, but then some may be walking around with stuff that has no symptoms (like a lot of STDs).
While partaking in fantasy, we should take time out to deal with reality. Think with both heads!
I am open-minded though, and you should post links to some of this "alternative information" you wrote about.
