I have been saving for some time and I have been fortunate enough
to have set aside enough to see a few porn stars or 2-3 big name ones.

I cant decide if I want to go to AVN and try to see girls there during the
Week or go to LA the weekend after and see some girls there.

On the one hand I have heard that it is hard to see girls during AVN  
because they just want to party with there friends when they are not signing
(A lesson i learned the hard way during exxxotica this year). On the
Other hand there will be girls at AVN who live in different parts if the country.

What do you guys think? AVN in vegas or avoid that whole scene and have a fun time in LA?

If you can make arrangements before your trip, you'll have more opportunity to see more girls for less money than going to AVN.

In fact, without a serious financial spend, you won't be very successful at AVN, and what you do get will be rushed and impersonal compared to what you'll find in a more relaxed LA situation.

AVN is a very limited opportunity, and in fact Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights are almost impossible because the girls have commitments they can't get out of.

Your call....

Dollars and sense is 100% right.  I live in LA and have seen a bunch.  I have been to AVN and it's a mess.  LA is a much better opportunity.

Listen to what DollarsandSense has to say! He's VERY knowledgeable regarding spending time with porn stars, and he's well-respected by all that know him well.

If it is an either/or situation, you're likely to have better luck in LA. I agree with the esteemed gentlemen above, who actually are just confirming what you already seem to know: that the craziness of the shows can make hooking up a real hit and miss prospect. Hell, I've been to 6 shows (AVN x 3, AdultCon x2 and Exxxotica NJ last year) WITH a porn star and the schedule was so hectic at AVN last year we didn't even fuck the week of the show.  

LA, on the other hand, is a buyer's market for those looking to hook up with porn girls and if you know where to look, you can do so quite cost effectively as well.

Thank you for the kind complements. I've not posted here often, but I assure you all I'm still quite active and supportive of the hobby.

I let my VIP membership here lapse because I just didn't need the extra information it provides, but I'd certainly suggest it for the newer hobbyist.

As to the LA availability, right now there are probably 300-500 pornstars available in LA on a direct basis, and rates of $500 to $900 are very common.  

As for AVN, I will be there. For those of you who know how to reach me, find me there. I'll have two private suites at the Hard Rock.

Yup 20 long years attending this event and it may well be my last because lets face it.. its all run by MANWIN these days (the same people who put everyone in porn out of business), the stars and even the nominees cant get seats to the show to accept their awards  (they'd rather give seats to Hollywood A-listers so they look more credible on showtime) and there are very stars there .. because there are no porn stars anymore.. the internet dictates "fresh faces" every week.. most girls career is only 1 -3 months of filming then shes overexposed and thrown out.

These are a few reasons AVN is being boycotted by many in the industry.. I doubt it will even last another 10 years.
Actually I attend only because I host events and sometimes radio shows for VIVID etc

Anyhow in regards to "dates" heres my take on it:
anyone in the industry is going to be there looking for promo and more films,  
if you're not in the industry and no tested there's definitely no free hookups (not saying this for you but I know lurkers will be reading this, tying to get any info they can about this serverely overhyped show)

if you have $$$ to spend on seeing a star BOOK WELL AHEAD
even if you get a booking, unless that star is a well established provider with reviews (not a UTR) don't be surprised if she flakes on you.. "stars" are well known to get caught up in the whirlwind of parties and last minute events .. they can get whisked away to something else they consider more important than meeting you .. or they can get partied out and simply forget about you.

sad but true. I see and hear about it every year without fail.

so here are my recommendations for AVN week:

Find a star you like who is A REVIEWED PROVIDER ALSO - not  UTR.. UTRs are YMMV and even more so during AVN
ITS NEVER TOO EARLY TO BOOK
have a BACK UP PLAN in case she does a NCNS.. or a last minute cancel -  its highly probable during AVN
there are lots of providers who are not stars but travel to Vegas during AVN because there are dozens of other conventions in town in January including CES, Internext, Cam expo,  the construction industry expo and so many more I couldn't name them all....  
IMHO you're probably going to have a better time with one of them than a "big name star" who really doesn't give a shit about whether or not you have a good time because you're paying for a name not necessarily the experience

There's always a Meet n Greet held in Vegas the week of AVN you might want to check that out to meet some out of town ladies .. they are usually the majority of attendees.
