The thing you have to remember with deposits is that once you turn over the money, it's no longer under your control. And, if it's not returned, or not applied to another appointment, you have NO recourse - you can't complain to your bank, you can't call the police, you can't sue...
And there are all kinds of possible reasons why an agent or escort might say that you forfeited the money, and some of them could be lies. For example, what if you send a deposit, and the girl claims she was there for the appointment but you were not? The agency will most likely say your forfeited the money - they'll believe the girl over you most of the time.
If you search this board and go back you'll find people posting about giving a deposit to various porn stars who then never turn up. IIRC, there was one guy who turned over a lot if money and then had a public argument, on this board, over it. She said once thing; he said another. In the end, she had the money and he didn't and there was no way he was getting it back.
It's ALWAYS a bad idea to release money, in advance, in a situation where you have no control and no recourse.
I won't do business with any agency or escort who asks for a deposit.
If you have money to throw away, be my guest and give deposits. But if you're like many people here, who work hard for your money, why would you give it up and lose control? Think with the big head and not the little one.
