strategy for the Kerry camp?  Recent polls are not looking good.  Maybe if the Democrats in general and Kerry in particular could effectively articulate how he would be better for the country and shift the debate away from 'Nam, he could get elected.  Seems like the Dems are blowing it big time.

Kerry's service is well documented and Bush has periods of time (4 months at a whack) that are not accounted for.

why it's a legitimate story for CBS to challenge George Bush's National Guard service and the official record that he met his obligations (evidenced by his honorable discharge), but CBS has refused to cover the allegations by Swift Boat Vets for Truth, which is documented by eyewitness testimony, but also contrary to the official Navy records.

Because the Swift Boat Vets are full of shit and Bush failed to meet his obligation. He went AWOL and his so called honorable discharge is a farce IMO.
