The Bush proposal for private accounts to "save" Social Security seems to be on the skids.

So far Bush hasn't put forth his entire plan. But it has leaked that he plans to borrow money to pay for private accounts, removing revenue for SS.

It was also proposed today by Chuck Hagel (R) Senator that the GOP would like to reduce benefits by making retiremnet date at an older age. (Note: the right wing Bush thralls claim this is not a reduction in benefits. Though they can't seem to explain how it isn't a reduction when you would receive less money.)

Anyway, Bush is out on a campaign tour promoting his dismantling of SS via private accounts. But the people aren't going for it. The majority of seniors and even young adults have been polled and they are against his privitization plan.

Even his fellow GOPers are coming out against the Bush plans.

Soon Bush plans on denying he advocaed provate accounts. Mark my words.

Next will be the campaign to intimidate any resistance while manipulating and deceiveing the "largely uninformed" masses. I will not be surprise if they get this passed. You cannot underestimate this regime -- they will stop at nothing to get their way. We've seen this time after time with this neo-con crowed. Just look what they did with The Iraq war, the Medicare Drug Bill, The Deficit, Tax Cuts, John Kerry's military record, the lack of job growth, the looted explosives in Iraq and more going back to what they did to Bill Clinton. They have no shame. They just lie and repeat that lie over and over and over.....Faux News helps promote the lies and the rest of the media echos it until and the "genreally uninformed" masses end up letting it go (and even supporting it to an extent). It is really creepy what is happening.

"...they can't seem to explain how it isn't a reduction when you would receive less money"

If you've been studying this issue, you'd know that reduction in benefits (how much you get when you're eligible) and increase in the retirement age are two completely separate strategies.  Yes, they both reduce the government's burden (which I'm not afraid to say this is about) but in the lexicon of the day they are very distinct.

BTW, really surprising that old people (read: people who get money now) and young adults (read: those who aren't high wage earners or contributors yet) are against this.  Same reason why alot of middle aged, middle income people are for it.  No revelations here, my friend.
