Wrong again, dimwit.

Laffy basically had the same reaction I did. Because lefties aren't quite as predictable as you are.

I read a piece by a conservative saying Whoopi should not be cancelled. Others feel that as long as conservatives are getting cancelled, than liberals should as well.

I agree with ABC suspending her for two weeks, but think that firing her would be a bit too far.

So why the fuck are you starting another one?
Besides, she apologized and shouldn't have even been suspended. But I guess you like cancel culture.

If it’s a thread started by Laffy, I didn’t see it. Let me guess, Laffy ended up blaming it on Trump?! 😂😂😂

I’m arguing that Whoopi should keep her job. It’s a liberal, RespectfulRobert, here arguing that she should be fired.

How is it you missed both Laffy and I arguing even her suspension is too much. While you were arguing it was the right thing to do.
Not only are you argumentative, you're flat-out stupid.

As I pointed out to your earlier up the thread, I did not see Laffy’s post. And what gives you the impression that I didn’t know you’re viewpoint when I’ve directly addressed your belief that Whoopi should not be suspended?

While you were arguing it was the right thing to do.
Yes, I’m arguing that suspension is appropriate, but that firing (another viewpoint argued here in this thread) goes too far. Her comments advanced a dishonest view of anti-Semitism, applied to the Holocaust as little more than white on white crime.

Whoopi doubled down on her stupidity on Colbert later in that day so the question is, was she really sorry? Does she fully understand how hateful and ignorant her comments were? Colbert had to set her straight on the topic even more.
Furthermore, she has a laundry list of other despicable statements:
1) she repeatedly defended Bill Cosby long after dozens and dozens of women came forward. I guess all those women were liars Whoopi?
2) she defended Roman Polanski, by saying what he did wasn't "rape-rape." Rape-rape? Wtf is that???
3) she defended Joy Behar for appearing in black face. How nice.
I think ABC can do better. Don't you?

I think ABC can do better. Don't you?
I think Whoopi deserves a reprimand, but that the suspension is enough. Firing her would signal there’s no room for growth and chill candid discussion on all topics.

why didn't she after the Cosby/Polanski/Behar disasters? No, she has shown her true colors time and time again. If it were JUST this latest issue, I would agree with you but you want to ignore all her past hatred and stupidity and I don't.
Read up more on Whoopi's idiocy over the years here by John Oliver:

I just don’t think outright firing is the appropriate response to offering an opinion on an opinion show. The goal should be to dial back cancel culture, not embrace it.

My feeling is: Don't suspend @WhoopiGoldberg, simply put @ginacarano back in the @themandalorian and let @KevinHart4real host the Oscars and we'll just call it...  well, we'll call it America.

Thats "growth" in your view??? Thats the kind of "opinion" you want spread on your network?

The “not ‘rape’ rape” comment was a very awkward explanation of a line of thought that’s pretty common in our culture. The truth of the matter is our society views older men fucking teenage girls different than they do a man who drags a woman into an alley, beats her and sodomizes her against her will. I don’t think she should be fired for her opinions.

Underage victims don't have the legal ability for consent. But shall we move on?

Whoopi defended RAY RICE for beating up and knocking out his SO. Is THAT an opinion you want to defend too????
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10462081/Whoopsie-Goldberg-Outspoken-View-host-long-history-courting-controversy.html

I’m not “defending” statutory rape, nor am I defending her Ray Rice opinions. What I am defending is her right to express her opinions.

But she doesn't have a right to her job. I clearly established through many examples that she is incapable of the growth that you thought she could achieve. Not sure why you continue to argue against your own point but that is your right.
She is a bigoted, ignorant, uneducated and has routinely provided cover to rapists, racists and women batterers, and yet with all that being self evident and proven, you would still gloss over ALL of it keep her on your air. Got it.

on a subject that has nothing to do with her employer and then getting fired is a form of tyranny.  If she had said something wretched about ABC while she is cashing their paychecks, that's different, but an employer should not punish an employee for expressing opinions that have nothing to do with her employment.  It's an "opinion show", but she is only allowed to have opinions that are consistent with management?  How does that have any cred for the show?

I agree agree her opinion was ill-informed and reprehensible, but the two-week suspension is enough to show that there are limits to what someone should say on daytime TV.

Now there’s a reasonable take on the topic.

Apparently, Whoopi isn’t taking the news well and is reportedly threatening to quit the show. She did what the network advised (written apology, apology on Colbert, apology next day on the View), and then in her eyes the network threw her under the bus.

That's what decent management/ownership does with scumbags that routinely defend rapists, racists and women beaters.

You state: "an employer should not punish an employee for expressing opinions that have nothing to do with her employment. "
Then you say "the two-week suspension is enough to show that there are limits to what someone should say on daytime TV."
So you are saying she shouldn't be punished for "expressing opinions" at the same time you are saying the 2 week punishment is enough.
How does that make ANY sense at all?????

Now Whoopi might quit, and then the argument is moot.
