From the Times:
"Birtherism, meet burgerism.

Vice President Kamala Harris has recalled her stint at a Bay Area McDonald’s 41 years ago in introducing herself to voters — a biographical detail relatable to millions of Americans who have toiled in fast-food restaurants.

But former President Donald J. Trump has repeatedly accused her of inventing it. Lacking a shred of proof, he has charged that she never actually worked under the golden arches — recalling his earlier false claim that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States.

Mr. Trump’s latest allegation also appears to be false.

Whether a presidential candidate actually flipped burgers as a college student is a far less serious allegation, of course. But Mr. Trump’s seeding of doubts about Ms. Harris’s story, while insidious and outside the lines of traditional fair play in politics, advances his goal of portraying Ms. Harris as a fraud.

It exploits the fact that her life story is not as well known or as well documented at this late stage of the campaign as those of most presidential nominees have been. And it gives voters who may already harbor doubts about her another invitation to dismiss her and doubt what she says....

But The New York Times interviewed a friend who had known Ms. Harris as a teenager and remained in touch with the family for years afterward. Wanda Kagan, a close friend of Ms. Harris’s when they attended high school together in Montreal, said she recalled Ms. Harris having worked at McDonald’s around that time.

Answering questions by email, Ms. Kagan said that Ms. Harris’s mother, who died in 2009, had told Ms. Kagan about the summer job years ago. Ms. Kagan said she herself had also worked at one of the fast-food chain’s many franchises in those years.

“That’s what us regular folks did,” Ms. Kagan wrote. Still, she indicated that it had not been a frequent topic of conversation for Ms. Harris. “We didn’t talk much about our McDonald’s days back then,” she said.

Ian Sams, a spokesman for the Harris campaign, said Mr. Trump’s claims were typically false.

“When Trump feels desperate, all he knows how to do is lie,” Mr. Sams said. “He can’t understand what it’s like to have a summer job because he was handed millions on a silver platter, only to blow it.”
Ms. Harris’s stint at McDonald’s may be one of the few blue-collar jobs she has held, according to a copy of her résumé from 1987 when she applied for a summer position at the Alameda County district attorney’s office. Her other work experience listed on that document includes an internship with former Senator Alan Cranston of California, a student assistant position in the public affairs office at the Federal Trade Commission and a summer clerkship at a San Francisco law firm.

The résumé does not mention her time at McDonald’s — a fact that The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative news outlet, used to suggest that she had never worked there, and which seems to have propelled Mr. Trump’s claim that she made up the job. The summer of 1983 is not listed on the résumé at all. It is also unclear, of course, why Ms. Harris would have included a fast-food job on an application for a legal position.

In subsequent years, Ms. Harris talked so little about her long-ago job at McDonald’s that even some of her friends and close aides did not know she had worked there. She also did not mention the job in her memoir, although she talked extensively about her time at Howard and the various jobs mentioned on that old résumé.

The first time Ms. Harris appears to have prominently brought up her summer job was during her first presidential campaign in 2019, as she joined striking McDonald’s workers on a Las Vegas picket line calling for a $15 minimum wage.

“If we want to talk about those golden arches being a symbol of the best of America, well, the arches are falling short,” Ms. Harris said back then.
On the campaign trail this year, she has mentioned the job to underscore her middle-class roots and her support for workers. She has also pointed to it as a contrast with Mr. Trump, a billionaire who inherited his wealth.

“She grew up in a middle-class home,” one early campaign ad said. “She was the daughter of a working mom. And she worked at McDonald’s while she got her degree.”

Ms. Harris has said that McDonald’s was just a summer job to earn spending money. She has often noted that many Americans rely on such low-paid work to support themselves and their loved ones.

“Some of the people I worked with were raising families on that paycheck,” she said during an economic policy speech in August. “They worked second or even third jobs to pay rent and buy food.”

Now cue up The SPOAT, who will bleat about how the Times is a lefty rag. And then go on to cite The Washington Post. It's called hypocrisy. Righties feature it in all they do.

Nicky copies and pastes 20 paragraphs over Trump making fun of the Ding Dong lying about her past! This is a theme with her. She rarely mentions that she’s a practicing Hindu, or that she grew up in Canada or that she didn’t have much interest in politics in college, or that she had an affair with Willie Brown. And despite all that, the thing that triggers Nicky is the McDonald’s thing. Guess what, Nicky? I once worked for McDonald’s too! LOLOLOL!!!

In brief

A slime ball NYT “reporter” claims he spoke to a CLOSE friend of kuntmala.

And this CLOSE friend who in touch with the family for a long time, says kuntmala did work in McDonalds.
How does this CLOSE friend know this, she says kuntmala’s mother (who is no longer with us) told her. Not firsthand knowledge.

There is no proof kuntmala worked at McDonalds.

That’s a long reach or as a reasonable person would say BullFuckingShit

Just because kuntmala has served/serviced over a billion does not mean she worked for McDonalds……well maybe she worked nights behind a few McDonalds …… whipping up a different kind of special sauce.

I’m surprised that Trump’s McDonalds event is generating so much publicity.  I’m scrolling social media on X and the liberals seem to be losing their shit over it. I think it’s causing a “Streisand Effect”. In other words, more people are aware of Kamala’s McDs job claim being suspect because TDS libs are freaking out about Trump’s visit to McDonalds. I think they shot themselves in the foot.

-Her campaign wouldn’t give the *New York Times* evidence that she worked there

-The best evidence that SIX NYT journos found was a childhood friend—who lived in a different country when Kamala had the alleged job—saying Kamala’s (now deceased) mom mentioned it

-It’s driving lib journos nuts that they can’t prove she worked there all while her campaign begs them to call Trump a liar w/o evidence

These were NOT simply normal customers who were vetted by the Secret Service. They were pre-selected Trump supporters who were vetted by the Trump CAMPAIGN before the SS. The restaurant was closed to the general public. Ergo, a staged political event.

"Trump then admitted he doesn’t know if his claim is “true or not true.” "
.
" “You don’t know if it’s true or not true,” Kurtz argued. “It’s been debunked by the officials.” "
.
" “What about the goose? The geese?” Trump questioned. “They’re all missing. It was one guy with two geese.” “I have no idea. I said something. The big problem is that you can’t put 30,000 people into a 50,000-person town or city and expect this city to even survive or do well,” he continued. “What they’ve done to Springfield, Ohio, is very, very unfair. And I mean, there are a lot of stories.” "
.
"Telling Kurtz to not “blame” him, he added, “There are a lot of other stories that I’ve heard that are horrible stories.”

For the record, the debunked "goose" story came from an unrelated event in Columbus, OH months earlier.

"There is no evidence, outside of second- and third-hand social media gossip, to support the notion that Haitian residents of Springfield, Ohio, are eating people's pet cats or their parks' waterfowl. The only alleged evidence in support of the former actually depicts an American in a different city. The alleged evidence of the latter stems from a single picture apparently taken in a different city."

The bigger story right now is why Kamala can't prove she worked at McDonalds after making the claim.  Doesn't "person A have a responsibility to prove what she claims?"  Everything is a one-way street with you.  Evern though by your own admission, Trump is not required to prove her wrong, he did go to the trouble of working at McDonalds for 15 minutes and then claimed he worked at McDonalds longer than SHE did.  I'm guessing she is not going to be able to debunk that one, either.    Lol

It was NOT a "best-seller, it was an "also-ran" on the Best-seller "LIST", which includes all of the books from 2nd down to 100th.  5, 7, or 9 is not even noteworthy, much less remarkable, unless you are the author trying to convince someone that you are not your ordinary book writer.

As I mentioned before, pre-Clinton there was a natural and healthy dynamic between the management class and the working class. One method for increasing profit is to reduce labor costs. Business could only do this so much because of unions. And so they found other ways to do it. Eventually, the power of labor declined. Clinton came along and brought neo-liberalism with him. This decimated the working class even more. From then on both parties worked on behalf of business at the expense of the middle class and when no more value could be easily stripped from them, they found various corruption schemes to keep the racket profitable. This opened up an opportunity for Trump to come along with a populist message. Why did people support Trump so fiercely? Because both parties became corrupt, would make promises to the People that they didn’t keep and go right back to their various con games and rackets. Obama told people I know both sides have been screwing you over for decades but believe in me and I’ll have your back. And people fiercely supported Obama and he stabbed them in the back just like any other politician. Trump comes along and offers the real thing, and people give him their loyalty and support. This is why the entire system went after Trump in a psychotic fashion. They knew Trump was a threat to their corruption racket. That’s why they’re still going after him. And it’s why the best hope for the middle class is Trump.

I'm thinking back to my neighborhoods when stores would come and go, startup and fail, and so on. I had a friend who had a HS job at a new burger chain. That chain failed after a few years and another joint took over the store. And again. And then it became a Farmer's Market for a while. And then a drive through donut shop. And then, who knows what. Since no one knows the name of that very local-only Metro NYC failed burger chain, he would sometimes say he worked at a McD to simplify matters. I knew someone in college who got his degree in [minor major] which didn't sound very fancy or important, even though that department was a top ten. Years later, the department renamed itself to [Big Important Sounding Major] even though everything else was the same. He uses [Big Important Sounding Major] on his resume even though his official degree and diploma says [minor major]. Nobody would know what his training actually was if he used [minor major].
.
I read that one of her teen coworkers came forward and confirmed that Harris worked with her at a McD while a student.

two years at a burger chain is a loser anyway.  You're better off without him.  Fast food service is just a place where ugly girls work while going to school.   Pretty girls work in clothing stores at the mall.  I've seen a few photos of Kamala when she was college age, and her appearance DOES give a little cred to her claim of working at McD's.  It seems the photos are from BEFORE she went in for the Michael-Jackson-skin-whitening and hair-straightening treatments.  For men, fast food is a FIRST job.  Three to four months and they should be able to find something better.  Two years serving burgers does not show much ambition.
