What’s amazing to me is that more aren’t being prosecuted.

George Santos charged with 10 additional crimes in updated indictment.
The total is up to 23.

Santos isn’t the first member of Congress indicted. Here’s how others ended up.
(Article discusses 7 Reps and 3 Dems ... if you're keeping score.)
.
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-indictments-details-guide-charges-trial-dates-people-case/
Trump's 4 indictments in detail: A quick-look guide to charges, trial dates and key players for each case.
(This article does not include the E. Jean Carroll case in which Trump is already found guilty but is awaiting determination of the amount of damages he must pay Carroll. This article does not include Trump's recent lawsuits filed against Judge Engoron and Michael Cohen (for $500 M!) that Trump recently withdrew in order to avoid being deposed under oath. This article does not include many prior convictions or plea deals, e.g. Trump University fraud settlement and Trump Foundation fraud settlement. There are other civil cases accepted by the courts and still pending against Trump.)
.
Many Dems, including the NJ Governor, condemned Menendez and asked him to resign from Congress.
.
Reps want to keep Santos in the House because they need his vote. A small group of NYS Rep Representatives will introduce a bill to expel Santos from Congress:
http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/new-york-house-republicans-introduce-resolution-expel-rep-george-santo-rcna119917
Republican lawmakers to introduce resolution to expel Rep. George Santos from Congress.
The movement came a day after Santos, also a Republican, was charged with fraud and identity theft.
.
With each indictment, Trump's polling numbers go up. We'll see what happens after the convictions start rolling in.
.
It seems the DoJ is an equal opportunity investigative - prosecutorial agency, going after Dems and Reps.

I'll just leave this here...

PS, even CNN has had enough. Damn, who would've thought!

Santos is a pretty amazing story. The guy wins election and then suddenly everyone realizes what a piece of shit he is. Wish people would have noticed before Election Day. Luckily, at least someone noticed as soon as he was sworn in and he’s been facing accusations and investigations ever since. I guess better late than never.

The Bob Menendez story is more concerning. He nearly gets caught years ago only to squeak by. And instead of that being a wake up call to behave himself he goes full gold bricks in his fridge corrupt.

It’s baffling to me how anyone can think there’s an ounce of difference between collecting lobbyist’s dollars and collecting bribes. And things are now so bad that members of Congress are shaking down countries that draw the ire of US foreign policy. If that’s not a sign that our political system is broken then I don’t know what is.
