Today marks the 26th anniversary [if that's the right word] of the Iranian siezure of the US embassy in Teheran.

Any thoughts?

I'm pretty sure you're right.  Few enough people will even know the reference.

So we've implicitly trashed Moslems, Catholics and Anglicans.

Next victim?

any babe (definition to follow) regardless of religion.  OK, so I do suspect the Catholic ones of being more than a little wacky, thanks to the ex....

I think I'd really like one that was a Dick Worshipper, but I can't say I've met any with a specific theology.

Well, secularly speaking,
1. Islamic fundamentalism/embassy siezure
2. Guy Fawkes Night - suspect RC plot to blow up Parliament
3. leading to their oppression at the hands of th Church of England

allowing me to scoff at the true believers.

Yes, I also do not let religion come between me and a bed partner, but there are exceptions.  I once dated an african-american who started to get into neo black nationalism, and it was a real pain in the ass.

don't think i would date a woman who was a committed AND vocal Zionist, especially if she was the fundamentalist christian variety of that abomination.

Couldn't knock on doors with Jehovahs' Witnesses no matter how much i dug her.

Coukldn't throw myself on the floor, roll around and foam at the mouth and speak in tongues.

Couldn't...well , I think you're starting ti get the picture.

Hmm, maybe politically apathetic celebacy bears investigation?

Those primitive religions which sanctioned sexual intercourse with temple prostitutes and the like - why DID they fall into such disrepute?

a committed and vocal Zionist would want to be anywhere near you given your biases, so it's obviously something that you won't have to consider.

That's their loss, to let a little thing like that...

In fact, my charms such as they are  are so unusual it's alredy happened.  Luckily for both of us i wasn't attracted to her but she was really nice otherwise. Plus the poor woman took about half a dozen anti-depressants per day [not doses, types, with mutiple doses per type]. PS. her dad had autographed photos of several lesser-known Israeli politicians in his office at home [he was an attorney, retired].  As soon as I saw that I knew it wasn't a relationship meant to last.  And I was still mourning my late wife.

At any rate, this is a boring topic for a politics board.  Let's move on to something else.  But since you seem to have a compulsive need to ALWAYS have the last word, the floor is now yours.  But in the meantime, I'm outta here!

Actually, i do bump into her on occasion.  She seems to have gotten worse with each passing year.  I don't think I would have had any worse effect on her than what life has dealt her in the last 15 years or so.

Re last word - when someone bothers to respond, even in a negative mode, I like to afford them the courtsey of a reply.  Call me silly.

But I do tend to be wordy, verbose, prolix, convolutes, repetative, over-written...

Peace and good health to you.

Thanks?

I've been called much worse.

Often on this very Board!

But to respond to me is to get to [kinda] like me.  It's inevitable.

While everyone has a right to post whatever they want within the moderator's guidelines, to be truthful I find your endless posts rather boring with a good amount of what I would call pseudo-intellectualism.  You would likely be better received if your posts weren't so ubiquitous.  Think about it, as I know this view is held by many others.

I've felt that way myself, but since I'm not necessarily posting these things for the edification or approval of others [but some of that would be nice...]

I don't think I'm the only one on this Board guilty of psuedo-intellectualism, so is that really your complaint?  Is it also the content and the topics I choose?

Whether they're well-received, univerally loathed, or simply ignored, it's all the same with me.  In my defense, if it's necessary, the bulk of my posts are responses to others' postings.  Burt even here it's possible to go overbaord.

Please feel free to skip over them, if you feel this way, when you see them.

I don't think you would bother to respond if you felt  they were totally w/o merit.  But I could be wrong.

In any case...

Peace and good health to you.

PS in the middle of September two contributors to this Board posted and expressed concerns about my emotional stability.  I took 3 weeks of from iniating any threads and only posted a few simple responses.  Would you feel better if I repeated this?
