I keep looking for ways to disagree with her over-arching premise about reigning in these 501c3 corps that pose as "houses of God" and offer up such an immeasurably-small amount of "good works" onto the community that it's a percentage of total earnings it can't even be tracked!

I watch the Joel Olstiens and thousands of plastic-men carrying freshly bound-Bibles bilking the fool-hearty-yet sincere sheeple out of BILLIONS while flying around the country in private-jets to polish the gold-grills on eachothers RollsRoyces and spiritually "69" eachother in a self-rightous, mutual exchange of declared "Holyness" of eachothers actions!!

AND IT MAKES ME SO FUCKING SICK I PUKE UP MY GOOD BOOZE! (Long before I get drunk enought to not give a damn about the market whoring that these fake men of God/false prophet's-for-profit are doing to the TRUTH!!)

Some questions to consider:

1) Pelosi is a dedicated Catholic and tries hard to live her life by the Gospel of St. Matthew.  Isn't it a stretch to accuse her of being against the church?

2) She is one of the few congress people who have taken the time to try to talk with American Muslims (through the Council on American Islamic Relations).  While some CAIR members may have some involvement with radical Islam, it does not follow that she is coddling terrorists. Clearly, not all American Muslims are terrorists.  I had the experience of teaching at a junior college in Detroit in an area with a large Arab population including many Muslims, and never encountered the sort of hatred of the West that so many Americans ascribe to all Muslims.  It is high time that intelligent dialog with American Muslims was established.  Or do you believe we should reopen the internment camps used for the Japanese-American citizens in World War II and stuff all people of Arab descent into them?

3) Perhaps you don't agree with the details of Pelosi's attempt to rein in the religious right's attempt to dictate the politics of this country.  But you yourself admit that you can't come up with a good argument against what she is trying to do.  Perhaps you could offer constructive criticism instead of an ill-tempered drunken rant?

4) I can't help wondering if her being a woman and a Democrat isn't a big part of your animosity.  I notice that the article you reference describes a bill introduced by Harry Reid and colleagues in the SENATE; where is the relevance to Nancy Pelosi there?

First off, I HATE ETHICS!! "ways and means rules" are just a way to create hoops for your opponent to jump through and a quagmire of non-sense rules-of-order to bind and manipulate your opponent and launch accusations of "misbehavior" at them with, But at a closer look, ETHICS ARE MEANINGLESS!

If you are a pro-abortion advocate, It is a simple matter to justify abortion because it is "legal", thus "ethical" to suck or cut a living child out of it's mothers womb...

But it is not "MORAL" to insert tools into a mothers cunt and snip the arms off a living pre-mature child as it flails,lurches, and pushes against the jaws of the bone-crushing insterments as it's limbs are removed and it's dragged out of it's would-have-been mother in pieces! You fail to realize how little consensus there is on what is "fair", what is "righteous", and what is "criminal".  Do you believe that the bigwigs at Enron were inhibited by any sense of morality they might have had?

Bear in mind that, while ethics can be objectified and externalized to a great degree, it is much harder to come up with similar obiter dicta about morality.  The reason is that ethical standards are essentially nomothetic (rule-based) in nature, while morals are much more ideographic (situation-specific in application).  While my distinction may be a little imprecise, it gets at the fundamental difference between ethics and morality as I see it.

I would agree that vivisecting a fetus in utero is clearly immoral --- primarily because, as you point out, it is an unnecessary brutality.

Be careful about equating "freedom of choice" with "pro-abortion".  One of the repulsive bugaboos of the right-to-life extremists is their claim that abortion is a cheap and easy way to evade the consequences of sexual promiscuity.  Having had relationships with three women at various times that contemplated and/or underwent abortion, I can tell you it is an agonizing decision for a woman to make.  There is nothing facile about it in the least.  I believe that only a male or nulliparous female would entertain such a ridiculous thought.  Or one whose brain has been fried by the Religious Mafia.

Insofar as the minimum wage debate, it is funny how many CEO types that are making millions of dollars a year complain about the increased cost of a minimum wage increase --- to a congress that never fails to give THEMSELVES a pay raise every year.  As far as smaller businesses are concerned, prices could be raised if their customers had wage increases to increase their buying power.

American Samoa would NOT get any increase in the minimum wage.  Perhaps it would be instructive if you looked into this to see why, and then possibly your view on Pelosi might change, particularly as regards ethics and hypocrisy.
