Our military is so depleted that we only have 19 aircraft carriers, more than the rest of the world combined.

Our arch enemy Russia has only one aircraft carrier which belches black smoke, breaks down, has to be accompanied by a tug boat and doesn't have our catapult launching system. Instead, the bow is tilted up like a skateboard ramp.

China has one aircraft carrier which they bought from Russia 20 years ago as scrap. They're building their own carrier but it won't be finished until 2020.

Yes, "depleted."

CVN's are basically obsolete

We wouldn't dare sail one thru the South China Sea in the event of war with China. They'd launch a salvo of 1000 missiles at it needing only one to hit. We couldn't stop them all.

Btw, only 10 of our carriers are true multi aircraft platforms. And that's down from 11 when your hero took office.

CVN's are necessary and important in many areas like the PG, The Med. Westpac Japan, Korea and yes the South China Sea too. They travel with some pretty well armed body guards, and a few more (CVN's and body guards) would not hurt

They are useful for projecting power in areas not threatened by full scale assault by major powers with land and even advanced airborne missile systems. Aegis is dated but still advanced but can be overwhelmed. They're fat juicy targets in confined spaces against a power lol like China on their "turf." I don't care how many destroyers, frigates we have, which today is not nearly enough, china has a lot more cheap, accurate and deadly anti-ship missiles. In times of "peace" they're useful. In times of war, not nearly so. We need a lot more subs and smaller surface ships today than we do carriers. They're cheaper and more versatile and in the case of subs can choke off the South China Sea. CVN's today are the BB's of the 1930's when it comes to full fledged war. One DF-21 much less a DF-26 with a range of 2600 miles a CVN becomes a floating pyre. We couldn't stop them all. And we know it. I'm not sure even a master naval tactician like Trump would dare sail a carrier battle group right by say Frigate Shoals in times of peace much less time of war. Oh. And the F-35 is junk complicating carrier capabilities even further.

So, plain to see you never served your country in uniform. Never stood on the wall to defend the Constitution and people of the United States or you wouldn't make such incredibly stupid comparisons.
Last time I checked, very few farmers are attacked and killed by their wheat crop.

you agree with what ? The fact that there are fewer farmers now and they are more productive? True. Not the point.
That technology can replace people in some functions? Also true but not the point either.
That the military is always asking for more money? Not true. The military gets what the Congress and administration gives them. Sure they want adequate manpower, if you served " 3 tours" were you ever shorthanded and that put people in danger? Sure they want adequate equipment. Were you ever where you didn't have the weapons, ammo or things like batteries for your NODs? Did that put people lives in danger? That's what happens when there isn't adequate funding. Not talking about having gold plated mess kits. Talking about a country that asks people to put their lives on the line to support them so they can do the job and bring as many home as possible.
As far as technology. It's great. But a drone has never held ground.
The comparison to farmers was ridiculous.

Pretty foolish reply if you ask me.

Just because it's acrobatic doesn't mean shit. Relative to its absurd cost, it's a pile of junk. For sure. Did you know a P47 could be built for $47,000? Yet today an F35 costs $150M. Seriously? And to boot it has serious design and performance flaws. Granted, most new programs do but for $150M each don't you think they'd be few far between? I would think so. Glad your photographer likes them. Let's see how much the israeli's like them by taking more than just two. I'm wagering they'll be begging for Raptors soon enough. They don't have any carriers. That I am aware of. 🙄 Look at the entire picture. I stand by my comment until proven wrong.

"Taken delivery of." My mistake. Let's see how many they actually take. Hopefully by then they'll have the kinks worked out. I take it the $150M per plane price is not a concern for you? Do you think if offered the F22 they'd of still taken the F35? I don't.
