Dr. Redfield testified UNDER OATH to Congress today in his capacity as director of the CDC.  He testified that a vaccine will not be generally available to the American public until late in the 2nd quarter or into the 3rd quarter of 2021.  There will be limited availability this November or December but it will have to be prioritized.

 
Later, Trump had a press conference and was asked about Redfield's statements.  Trump said Redfield "didn't understand the question."

Redfield also testified UNDER OATH about face masks:
"Face masks are the most important, powerful public health tool we have...We have clear scientific evidence they work and they are our best defense.  I might even go so far as to say that this face mask is more guaranteed to protect me against Covid than when I take a Covid vaccine..."

 
Trump said Redfield was wrong when he said that masks are "more guaranteed" to protect against the coronavirus than a vaccine: "As far as the masks are concerned, he made a mistake....Mask?  I ain't got no mask!  I don't need no mask!  I don't got to show you no stinkin' mask!  I don't got to wear no stinkin' mask!"
