3. attending the hearing on the motion to dismiss; another $2000
4. if the motion is denied - which you would suspect since a blue chip law firm drafted the complaint - discovery and then a summary judgment motion; another $10,000.

    And all that has to be paid even if  Maher WINS on summary judgment. Nope he cannot get his tty fees absent a Rule 11 type finding and I am assuming that Cooley LLP has enough to get over that low barrier.

     Hey Big Pappa did you know that liability insurance usually does not cover contracts made by the insured? Think about that for a minute.  Since Maher made the contract on the Tonight Show instead of HBO, I would think he is not covered by his iHBO indemnity agreement.

You don't get it.  Maher and HBO will gladly pay any attorney's fees because Trump is giving them great material and also creating free publicity for Maher's show.  $20K in legal costs is chump change by comparison and nothing to Maher and HBO.
Not to mention the fact that the suit will get thrown out of court quickly.  Trump has no case.
