Shirking.

Wow. I liked how this guy has laid it all out so it was obvious how slimy W had been, especially to call for more sacrifice from his men than HE HAD EVER CONTEMPLATED.  My father would be and is shocked by the moral bankruptcy.  My grandfather would probably try to challenge W to a duel (A German officer of his day might look the other way at an atrocity, but a breach of internal military honour was unthinkable)!

And yet you Vet reactionaries still love the guy.  Claim he is a far better choice than Kerry.

Suckers!  Even if he wins, the moral rot he represents can't be good for the country.  It is more damaging than a thousand Jen/Ben, Scott Peterson, OJ Simpson, Martha Stewart type scandals because it goes to the very root of the American ethos of doing for yourself and never asking others to do what you would not.

So basically, you guys are declaring you are in favour of the old Europe-style class system, and might making right, just at the very moment when Europe has come around to the new egalitarianism THAT WE TAUGHT THEM, and we together face a real  threat to our civilisation.

I can see, too that you are actually proud of it. Enjoy yourselves. Even in temporary victory, you are no less pathetic...

But really, tell us how you feel.

Sully, I'll try to be as nice as I can here, from where I am sitting all you are doing in your post is giving yourself enough rope to hang yourself on.

Would you take anyhing that I have to say seriously if I ranted & foamed at the mouth & quoted something from thedrudgereport?  Oh, silly question, I disagree with you so therefore I can't be taken seriously.

I guess that I have more faith in the intelegence of the American populace than some since it was stated in an earlier post that they (the poster) felt that most Americans were either stupid or ignorant.  Well, that fits right into the liberal elete mentality that thinks they know better what is best for people than the people themselves.  I'm sorry, I just can't buy into that.

I find it ironc though that you mention that you feel that President Bush did not fulfill his Military Code of Honor.  Well I suppose since you brought it up that it dosen't bother you that Kerry deserted his men after only 4 months into his tour?  Or I suppose the question of the validity of his purple hearts don't bother you.  No visible wounds, no time off, no serious injury but three purple hearts?  Max Clealand who introduced Mr. "reporting for duty" Kerry lost both legs and an arm in Vietnam and did not recive one purple heart.  How can that be?  is it because Kerry wanted out & saw a loophole & did what he could to get those awards?  I don't know his motives of course, but I would suspect so.

So What I am saying, in somewhat of a verbose manner is that Kerry & his supporters live in a glass house of dubious footings and should not be throwing rocks since the record of your man is shall we say less than stellar.

What we should be talking about is Kerry's 20 years of track record in the Senate.

But I suppose it's more fun to ignore facts and throw mud & not talk about the real issues.

be pointed out that for the third year (maybe more) FEMA has offered the most generous although competitive grant process for first response agencies.  1000's of fire departments across the country, including Native American agencies, are receiving unprecedented funding that their local tax base cannot provide.  Now, check the Firefighters in the yellow shirts behind kerry in his speeches and at photo ops.  All union-all bullshit.  IAFF.  Kerry has the endorsement of many (AFL-CIO) locals but should that be a surprise??  Wait until the million+ volunteer and professional firefighters go to the polls and vote their choice, not the Locals' Boss's pick.

I know many professional and volunteer firemen and a few ette's who wouldn't walk 50 feet out of their way to meet John Kerry but when Bush is on TV in a station or hall, you have nothing but silence because they are listening.  Not snearing, not heckling, not lampooning.  Much out of respect for the office, which sorely lacks on this board, but out of respect for what he has done and his continued efforts to punish those that murdered hundreds of fellow firemen at the WTC.  My .02, now flame aways you lefties

Right is Right, left is wrong!  Bush '04

I forgot, that's one of my Republican constitutional rights.  The gift of liberty, as they call it.  That, and the right to keep and bear arms, and worship the flag 5 times a day, just like cousin Osama facing Mecca that many times per day.

It would be difficult for Bush to punish those who murdered hundreds of firemen on 9/11, since those murderers are dead.  Even you have to admit that Bush's powers don't extend into the spiritual.  I guess he could ask God to turn up the heat down there, but that would entail there being a God at all.

I hope those emergency and LE workers are listening close to Bush and looking critically at the results.  If they do, the outcome on Nov. 2 might not be the one you like.

"just like cousin Osama facing Mecca that many times per day."   "I actually like that second one. "

It becomes more clear daily whose side you and those who think, talk and write like you are on.

The choice is clear, Bush who has a tract record of taking the fight to the terrorists or Kerry who has been running for President for arguable his whole life and still has no idea of what to do.

Slightly garbled it.  I was at work, so I couldn't get back on to correct it.  But if you have to translate Bush's malapprops into something profound, this shouldn't have been too hard for you.

Bush took the fight to Iraq, and removed the fight from the terrorists.  Now Bush doesn't even fight in Iraq.  We've taken the country.  There's no where to attack to.

How can you say Bush shows a sign of what to do?  Now that we're in Iraq, he has no strategy.  No way to win without a humanitarian catastrophe, no way to retreat.  What's the plan?  Where's the victory?  Getting rid of Saddam was a marginal benefit compared to the harm our invasion did and continues to do, to us and Iraq.

Remember how he froze on the morning of 9/11?  That's the measure of Bush's leadership.  Among all the 59 deceits of F911, did they mention that one as a deceit?  No, because it's better avoided.

Bush's next four years, if he steals them, will be a groan.  I, for one, will wish that I could change the channel.

If Kerry wins, my expectations are not that high, but I'm thinking in terms of triage right now, though he may surprise us, pleasantly.

I don't expect a good surprise from Bush. Any surprise will be a bad one.

Wow Bush "froze" for 7 minutes.  I guess that's better than being "dumbfounded for over 40 minutes" as Kerry has said about himself after hearing the news.

Come on, if you are going to make an argument, then you have got to make a better one than to simply parrot back what a political propagandist has said.

If Kerry is Elected, I wouldnt' be surprised if there is a new propaganda ministry founded with Goebbels, Er, Michael Moore heading it up.

Of the 59 deceits that National Review cited, not one of them disputed Bush's 7 minute freeze.  Why is that?  It wasn't just for 7 minutes, BTW.  Michael Moore didn't mention that Bush went to a 20 minute photo-op afterward.

So, you see, I don't just parrot what a propagandist says.

It would be very surprising if Kerry's self-described "dumbfounded" reaction was the equivalent of Bush's well documented deer-in-the-headlights reaction.  Kerry, unlike Bush, tends to have a bit of humbleness.

Besides, not being the Commander-in-Chief, Kerry would have been free to be somewhat numbed.

Moreover, this is not a very strong argument.  So, Bush froze, Kerry froze, so Bush wins?  That's overwhelming.

You say, and I quote: "Besides, not being the Commander-in-Chief, Kerry would have been free to be somewhat numbed."

WTF??  What kind of argument is that?  And yet he wants to be commander-in-chief?  If he was dumfounded for nearly an hour what do you think he would do if he lived @ 1600 Penn?  Would his reaction be any different?  The address dosent' make the man, the man lives up to the address.  Come on - you don't buy the stuff that you are saying do you?

Judging by the Kerry Campaing so far, if he was commander in chief he would have taken a position on every side just to cover his bases.  Nevermind that each position would have contradicted the other, all that he apparently cares about is telling everyone what they want to hear, not making the tough decisions like Bush has.

You, and all Bush supporters are reading something very hopeful into his character.  I think it's part of a fantasy.  A great fantasy, but an illusion nonetheless.
