....since I am pretty conservative - but I just love love love Kathleen Sebelius.
I now live in MO, but I pretty much lived all my life in KS until about 2 years ago. And as deeply conservative as Kansas is, Gov. Sebelius was re-elected with 60% of the vote back in 2006. She is a Democrat, but the lady is a class act through and through. She is bright and articulate, and knows how to get things done. In 2002 and 2003 when other states were losing jobs, Kansas was actually adding jobs thanks to programs she initiated.
I for one am very glad that Obama did not select her. I would have had a very hard time voting against her for anything. Not that I wouldn't, becuase there is absolutely no way I could vote for Obama period - but it would be a difficult thing to do.
It is true though, Gov. Sebelius probably wouldn't bring alot of heft to the ticket, because outside Kansas, she is mostly unknown. I think that if voters had the opportunity to look at her resume during her time as govenor though, they would be very well impressed with her abilities. The GOP in my opinion got lucky that she was not selected.
It's looking more and more like Evan Bayh will be BHO's pick. It makes more sense than Biden (he'd make BHO look too dumb) and Kaine (He'd round out the duo of a no experience pair of know nothings).
Bayh's the safe pick.
Too bad he didn't give The Clinton's even a look. That's really gonna piss of her legions. BHO has already turned over 2/3rds of the convention to The Clintons, but it won't be enough. She's still looking for ways to secretly harpoon him.
I don't know too much about her except that I lived in OH when her father was Governor and he was a "one-termer" from day one. My impression, based on VERY meagre exposure, is that she seems bright and articulate.

I don't understand that pick though. BHO is not supposed to need the "gravitas" boost. Although inexperienced, he's already sooo thoughtful and smart. That's what the Obamesiah followers believe, right?
Saying that after the fact. The only guess I had made right here was on the money: it wouldn't be Clinton.
You don't have to worry yourself about Hillary's legions. I'll offer you the guess that Clinton has been promised a very important position. I'll go as far as suggesting (not guessing yet) it will be a seat on the Supreme Court.
I'll also guess that Bill will have a position as well. Which one is a hard call, because I think Obama might have qualms about putting him in the cabinet.
See? No need to worry what happens after an Obama election.
We haven't seen the last of Hillary, She wants to be POTUS, not VP, not a supreme court justice, but President of the United fucking States. Nothing else will appease her. If she can't win in 2008, she will make damn sure she has a clear path in 2012. That means no Democratic incumbent.
Now that feel like you are on a roll, are you sure you don't want to press our bet. Don't tell me you're scared. lol
