Just starting out and they’re striking jurors left and right.

Juror 1: Saw the video and has strong opinions. Dismissed

Juror 2: Has not seen the video. Is a chemist and will likely be interested in the toxicology reports.
Juror #2 when asked if he supports BLM, “I support the message that every life should matter equally. I don't think the organization necessarily stands for that.
Juror 2 has been accepted as a juror.

Juror 3: Testified that she has strong feelings on the case and can’t be impartial. Removed by the judge.

Juror 4: is Hispanic. Testifies the police made an illegal move that killed Floyd. Defense uses a Peremptory challenge. Prosecution alleged racism. Judge points out the juror clearly had a Pre-formed opinion and did not offer the presumption of innocence to the defendant. Juror 4 dismissed.

Jurors 5,6 & 7 were dismissed yesterday.

Juror 8:
thinks Chauvin used excessive force in the George Floyd arrest. Also states that the riots affected the Minneapolis community negatively and that he won't go downtown with his wife.

Has misgivings about BLM, views Blue Lives Matter favorably.

Looks like defense wants to keep juror #8 bc he said he likes Blue Lives Matter in general, despite the fact he already said he strongly believes Chauvin used excessive force
So it looks like we’ve already got two jurors seated. With any luck, the entire 3 week period won’t be required to seat a jury that offers Chauvin the presumption of innocence.

Air Force veteran who had positive feelings towards Blue Lives Matter and was worried about protestors harassing his family and vandalizing his home.

So we stand at one juror selected so far.

AND I am hardly sympathetic to George Floyd himself, nor do I mourn his death in the least. He was a thug, a criminal and  is hardly anyone I would lose any sleep over.

That said, All FOUR cops deserve prison time and Chauvin in particular needs to spend DECADES behind bars. Where is comes to Chauvin it doesn't really matter that much to me WHY he murdered Floyd, but it's inconceivable that anyone could conclude that he didn't commit cold blooded murder. Unless the defense gets 12 white, racist, cops or ex cops on the jury the very best they can hope for is a hung jury, no "normal" person is going to look at that tape and somehow conclude it was anything else but murder.

Now if they would only go after the murderous rioters with the same zeal as they are going after these four cops and the so called 'insurrectionists" in Washington DC I'd say the system was working, but we all know that is never going to happen.

Juror #20 seated in George Floyd trial. Says he supports BLM and has a negative view of Blue Lives Matter.

Commenter reply: I think it's important to note that he also said that he took issue with "BlueLivesMatter", but supports police. Kinda like many ppl say they don't support "BlackLivesMatter", but support the Black community.

I don't feel particularly sorry for the piece of shit that was George Floyd, but that doesn't mean it isn't crystal fucking clear that Chauvin murdered him in cold fucking blood.

Being a piece of shit on drugs does NOT carry the death penalty in this country, and the other cops saw what was happening and did nothing, They too deserve prison time.

My fucking God Willy, PLEASE go back to being an idiot liberal. Did you switch sides just to make conservatives look dumb?

George was a very sick man who overdosed. All the defense has to do is read the autopsy report.

Tested positive for THC, meth, morphine, fentanyl.  No sign of injuries causing death. The Covid likely add even additional stress to his already damaged heart and lungs.

I haven’t seen anyone address the issue of George Floyd saying repeatedly “I can’t breathe” yet he can speak. Am I missing something here? I don’t think it’s physically possible to speak without inhaling and exhaling air. I wonder if the defense will bring this up.

This is one of the many inconsistencies throughout this case.  I agree it was excessive use of force unless he was drugged up or armed, but its not even close to murder.  If the prosecution is smart, after they get their ass kicked the first couple of the days, they will offer a plea deal.  They still get a notch in their belt for the conviction and the MSM will spin it to look like that had a total success, and Chauvin will get to pick how much time he's going to do for his bad decision by picking a plea deal he can live with.  To bad they don't mediate Criminal Cases.  I could help them out. Lol

They’ll also point out he was making the “I can’t breath claim” while on his feet and resisting arrest.  There’s no way a jury will convict on 2nd Degree Murder.

This should balance out some of the pro-BLM jurors that have been seated.

Juror 36, male route driver who is married, is added to jury. He likes crime shows and podcasts, "somewhat" disagrees that criminal justice system is biased against people of color
Juror 36 is male who said Floyd was "desperately screaming" under Chauvin's knee, but that if Floyd had followed orders this wouldn't have happened.

Seems like a guy who will consider evidence and arguments from both sides.

added a lesser charge of 3rd Degree Murder as an option for the jury.  It seems like an admission that they know their charge of 2nd degree murder doesn't have a snowball's chance. I think they will add more walk-backs before the trial starts.

Juror #44, a white woman in her 40s or 50s who works as a C-level executive in the nonprofit sector, seated on jury for #DerekChauvin trial. She is the 7th juror to be seated and the 2nd woman
Her answers to questions indicate she leans liberal. Defense focused on her opinions on police behavior. Prosecutors focused on her negative feelings towards drug users.
