Was the clarity of his reasoning on why he is endorsing one candidate over the other. I do not agree with a lot of what Mr.King said, but I completely agree with his statements on Iraq and the effect that they have had on recruitment of future terrorists. Terrorists learn from information that is made public, and in a democracy, it is difficult to stop the release of critical information. Many of the terrorists that are new more than likely are being carefully managed by experienced terrorists so that they avoid ending up on watch lists. Terrorists that cannot be identified as such are as dangerous as Bin Laden, the terrorists that conducted the 9/11/2001 attacks upon us were by and large unknowns on the day of the tragedy.
Angus King, Maines Gov. backed Bush in the 2000 election has this to say about his friend GW Bush, "I think the country is in the most significant danger in my lifetime," said King, 60. "I wouldn't be here unless I thought there was a grave threat to the future of the country."

Is the fact that most native Mainers (sounds better than Mainiacs) really hate the entire Bush family. Inconsiderate flatlanders that come to town a couple of times a year and expect them (locals) to wait on them hand & foot. They congest the otherwise empty roadways. Ayuh.
Having lived in the area when Daddy Bush was in office, I am not sure if these are still the feelings of today but I do nont imagine they have changed much.
Ayuh, can't get theya from heeuh.....
As far as the terrorist recruitment goes, that goes unchallenged, unless of course you listen to the comedy stylings of Rush Limbaugh and take his distortions as truth.
impugn the intelligence of a conservative (putting me in good company, by the way; you lefties always call Republican Presidents stupid, a practice documented by Ann Coulter in "Slander"), with a virtually illiterate construction.
he supported President Bush in 2000. So in what frame are you calling him an idiot? Like I said in my earlier post to this thread, I do not agree with much of what he said, but he did make his statements with great clarity, in my opinion.
At least with the Soviets, there were controls in place that both sides observed. Terrorists have no controls that they will adhere to. It seems that King's message was that terrorism is an enormous threat and that how we should deal with it is of upmost importance.
