...You said: "Some enterprising reporter?"  James O'Keefe?  Are you serious?  Do you even know who James O'Keefe is?  Do you even know what WND is?  Compared to World Net Daily, The Drudge Report is a Pulitzer Prize winner.  Did they take off your straitjacket too soon?

"Some enterprising reporter" - you funny mein!

O'Keefe pleaded guilty to trying to break in to Sen. Mary Landrieu's office.  He settled a lawsuit for $100,000. for illegally taping an Acorn worker and presenting him in a false light.  He tried to lure a CNN reporter onto a boat and surreptitiously tape himself trying to seduce her in order to discredit her.

When your burglar alarm goes off, this company according to their website, sends a “veteran police officer” to the scene to investigate.

Is the “veteran police officer” armed with an assault rifle or a machine gun? Not at all – he carries the same handgun used by the local police and is licensed and bonded to carry it.

When the “veteran police officer” arrives at your home, is he instructed to shoot on sight? Not at all. He is instructed to secure the scene, detain any suspect, and call the police.

I don’t see anything hypocritical about Mr. Morgan using such a service. He has never said that properly trained and licensed security guards should be unarmed. And what company would send an unarmed security guard to the site of a known burglary? They would endanger their own employee.

And now we return you to tonight’s episode of the X Files where Scully and Mulder discuss Mein’s quacky view of the Second Amendment:

“Mulder, Mein’s gun rights views seem more extreme than those of NRA vice president I.M. Fulschit. Is that possible?”

“The problem, Scully, is that Mein does not distinguish between public carry and public masturbation- he thinks the Second Amendment guarantees his right to do both.”

“Well, Mein is a recognized expert in the field-“

      “Of public carry?”

“No, of masturbation, but I guess this explains why he no longer gets invited to those Meet and Greets.”

“Exactly, and as to the NRA, that’s one gun that even the NRA would like to see controlled.”

It's the classic "do what I say, not as I do" hypocrisy seen in so many other Establishment Mockingbirds who demand that all citizens deserve to be disarmed, at the same moment they are packing serious heat.  The list is massive:

 1.  Michael Moore, the hygiene-challenged, gun-grabbing director of the propaganda flick, "Bowling for Columbine," who has repeatedly called for citizen disarmament while being personally protected by a detail of armed-goons.

 2.  Mayor Michael Bloomberg who has been behind a new wave of persecution of gun-owners in New York, is protected by taxpayer-funded armed goons and a concealed-carry permit.

 3.  Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY), also has a detail of armed private security as well as a nearly-impossible-to-obtain-at-any-price NY concealed-carry permit.

Now, there's that piece of putrid English Redcoat, Torry Dog Snot known as Piers Morgan; who regularly uses his bully CNN pulpit to tout the complete disarmament of American citizens. Some enterprising reporter went out to his home and found that he is a client of a "home protection system" that guarantees "fully-armed response" to any and all those cowans and interlopers who may linger too closely on Morgan's property line.

It would seem that Morgan is a pea from the same pod with the rest of the anti-constitutional collaborator brethren, they make damn sure that first their asses are well-covered and that their needs are taken care of, and it's "to hell with the little people," "let 'em die," or "go buy a watchdog."

you dont believe that handguns are a target of the current administration? Over half of these mass shootings the killer has used handguns, handguns account for 85% of all firearms crimes and are much easier to conceal, easier to aim in close quarters and can be used in either hand.
Holmes fired roughly 30 rounds from an AR and the rest were from a handgun and shotgun. Virginia Tech was only handguns, Ohio school shooter used a handgun. Many more examples of this out there.
To tell American parents that your children are safe because we banned the sale of assault weapons and extended capacity mags is a falsehood that will be proven untrue. With the number of these weapons and mags they will be available for decades even with a total ban. If the government bans them then they should repay owners for the full purchase price as well because they were bought legally. You wont see that happen, theyll offer $100-200 for a gun many paid $1000 plus for. Would you turn yours in if that was the case? Esp if it was worth twice that the day a ban passes?
Peirs Morgan has called for an all out ban on firearms. I've personally heard it. There are many of us who cant afford paying for armed security, live to far for it to ever be effective or dont want to trust someone to defend our family.

I've had so many people, on this board, speak for me, by name, and who made statements totally untrue, yet I can't recall having ever had such a strong response as you! So, when I hear someone speak for me in generalized terms, as I did when responding to Meirche, I always assume that they are not being legalistic regarding the term "us all,"or "everyone." However, you seem to feel free to make specific assumptions regarding me such as; "You fail to read outside your kind ,
Dare not between the lines ." I have always had very broad range of information sources, and once I read or hear a point of view, I no longer need to repeat the experience. My memory is quite intake!   ;)

I mean, didn't this kid serve some time in jail for trying bug a Congressman's office? No dirt was found, but O'Keefe is now a convicted felon. Which, I'm guessing, means he's barred from owning a gun. Isn't life ironic?

Obviously this limey piece of shit uses guns to protect himself. He just has the luxury of handing that job to someone else. Not many of us have that option.

And it hasn't escaped me that the number 1 gun grabber in the country, Michael Bloomberg, is also the number 1 protector for the top 1%. Bloomberg hasn't said word-one about disarming the NYPD, even while they were busy beating in the heads of the Occupy protesters.

Isn't that what is really motivating Bloomberg? With the Occupy movement talking about the top 1%, and with the Tea Party movement complaining about Wall Street bailouts, maybe Bloomberg was worried that maybe the poor and middle class would start seeing eye to eye, or at least come to understand who their common enemy was.

James Madison explicitly said in Federalist #46 that the purpose of the 2nd amendment was to guarantee our rights from a tyrannical federal government. When a federal government starts to come after those rights, then isn't that an indication of what they have planned for the very near future?

Yep, I won both games. Who woulda thunk McGary of Michigan and Hancock of UL would be the stars. I haven't made my bet yet on tonight's game. I'm with just about everyone on UL winning, but the UL -4 is whispering in my ear, "take Michigan". But I gotta say, there's a law of deminished returns here. How much better is a $40 wine compared to a $20?

I mean, really, you can find some quality Malbecs coming out of Argentina for dirt cheap these days. California has been putting out better shit than France for decades now. It's not hard to find a quality moscoto so long as you're paying more than 6 bucks a bottle. I even find Barefoot tolerable from time to time. It's not like I'm saying we should be getting our drunk on with endless bottles of manischewitz. But why waste money on hype?

I dunno. My own wines aren't half bad. I imagine they'd be better if I bothered to let them age a little bit. I have a hard time waiting any more than 6 months. I have a gallon of raspberry that's waiting to be bottled. The bouquet alone is to die for.

If you'll notice I said I could find many "light reds" that were very drinkable for the twelve buck price you mentioned. Several Malbecs being among them, I also like Oregon Pinot Noirs that are quite reasonable as well.

What I can't drink are cheap white wines, or even medium priced California Chards. I don't go overboard, (dates with hot Canadian hookers aside) but I like white burgundies like a Pouilly Fuisse or a decent Chablis, and no not the jug shit like from Gallo or Paul Masson. lol Liquor store prices are around $25 or so for something halfway decent.

Back in my "Gambling days" yes I did drink some high priced shit, and I will agree about the diminishing returns when you reach a certain price point. It's a rare person that can really tell much difference between a fifty dollar bottle and five hundred dollar bottle, and I have had my share of both. The five hundred dollar bottles were always courtesy of the casinos of course. Sorry, but I work to hard for my money to drink five hundred dollar wine, I rarely spring for that much for a hooker for the exact same reason. lol

With respect to the issue of who drinks Chardonnay. I believe it was you a few years ago that mentioned a yearly pilgrimage to the U.S. Tennis Open championship at Flushing Meadows.       As for me, I will stick with the Black Forest Ham and Brie on a Kaiser roll on my next visit to Flushing Meadow. And you got the chardonnay wrong too - as I recall, it was distinctive, yet subtle, kind of like my post

UL has dug themselves into a hole several times over the last few weeks, and has always found a way to dig out of it, tonight was no exception.

I'll have to admit that Pinot Noirs are probably my all time favorite. Never had any from Oregon though. I considered growing some Pinot Noir grapes in my backyard, but they're a bitch to grow.

I agree with you on chardonnays. I'd put pinot grigios in that category as well. I find them undrinkable. I only buy them for cooking, honestly. With the exception of moscotos, I'm not a big fan of whites.

These days, I prefer a lot of my own brews. The guy who taught me how to make wine decided to retire down in Florida, and he's such a drunk that he can't stand to spend more than 5 bucks on wine. So he just walks around his neighborhood, picks oranges, and makes orange wine. It's, well, pretty horrible. But it can grow on you, strangely enough.

To date, I've made apple, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, concord, orange, banana, lime, and honeydew wines. The raspberry was fucking awesome (if tart is your thing), and the honeydew was good for cleaning the toilet. You win some, you lose some. But it's fun to drink shit that nobody else can buy in the store.

One of these days I'll get into brewing beer, but I haven't crossed that road yet.

How about this, Any label  that starts with the words "Chateau Lafite" is fine by me, especially since St C is paying.

BTW we did specify "non vintage" where it comes to the Krug, right? No 71's or 85's are in the budget. lol

I will confess, I do have a bottle of 1986 Krug "Clos du Mesnil" Brut Blanc de Blancs that I have been saving for a special occasion, but dinner with a couple of whore mongering degenerates like the two of you is hardly "special enough" to pop the cork on that bad boy. lol

If you are looking for some good pulp fiction to read by the pool this summer, try one of the Sean Dillon novels.

I agree that St. Croix and I are not worthy of the 1986 Krug Clos du Mesnil - a wine I probably never will be able to afford. No doubt you are saving that one for your dinner with Jeff and Laffy. (Please promise me you are not going to break THAT bottle over someone's head).

Truth be told, I was born on the other side of the bridge, but I spent a lot of time in Oakland. Long enough that I don't have to ask black people "how to talk to them" like a certain bird brain closet racist did not to long ago. I mean honestly, how big a racist do you have to be to have to ask a black person how to talk to them. A grown man (age wise at least) in the 21st century that doesn't know how to talk to people of color, maybe if he knew a few black or brown people, except for the ones that cut his grass or park his car, he might know how to talk to "them"

I loved UL since before the tourney even started and I had my finger ready to bet them for both the first half and game, and changed my mind and did a 1st half UM/over parlay, followed by a halftime bet on UL. I couldn't bring myself to do a second half parlay, not after they scored well into the 70s in the first have, but I could have gotten away with it.
