Actually, you’ve tried to change the subject, as usual. Others here have justly and adequately given retort to your assertion that “Katrina was Republican's fault”.

I'll return you to the point at hand and remind you that NONE of the examples you laid out demonstrate that Republicans (unlike Dems) find enjoyment or seek personal or party power at the expense of those afflicted.

When it's stated that some Dems relish at the thought of using innocent lives to increase their own power, their defenders say we're crazy.

When it's shown by example to be true, the defenders retort, "Oh it's just Michael Moore or the Daily Kos or some other loony leftwing fringe.

What's going to be their defense now, when it's a previous DNC Chairman and a Dem Congressman thst are shown to be "participating"? Probably nothing since it will not get any air time.

they basically shut down the convention. No speeches or campaigning.  Just the mandatory legal documentation stuff.

also, Sarah Palin's speech in Missouri was awesome.  I think the dems are scared.  But the dem vermin will never admit it.  That clip shows the kind of vermin they are.

Hardly evidence of what the rest of the Democrats think. Also, Karl Rove himself made a wisecrack that the Republicans just can't get good weather in August.

It was repubs who watched people drowning and dying in nola all the while lecturing and making cracks about how they were caused by the welfare state. I might anticipate that if the same thing happens now, we'll hear the very same things, with enough wise cracks to illustrate the point.

I've also heard Repubs suggest that Gustov and Katrina are the judgment of God.

Repubs do the same thing in similar numbers but with different timing.

Yanno, in the run-up to Gustav, there has been a veritable frenzy of activity and preparations. The various Governors of the states under threat, and the Mayors of the various localities have been working non-stop to ensure that they are prepared for Gustav.

Have you noticed what Bush's role in Gustav has been? To stand by the sideline and tell them what a great job they are doing as they make their preparations. FEMA is on the ground and has been assisting with local efforts to be prepared.

So what is different here from three years ago? FEMA was on the ground three years ago as well. Bush was as briefed three years ago as he is today. The MASSIVE difference between Katrina and Gustav is the GOVERNORS who are working their asses off with preparations this time, versus Blanco who even BEFORE Katrina hit sounded overwhelmed and utterly out of her league.

If Gustav demonstrates nothing else, it demonstrates where the overwhelming blame lies in the disaster that was Katrina, and it sure as hell isn't Bush.

Gov Jindal is following the Jeb Bush model that has been very  successful in dealing with hurricanes.

Lib: Do nothing to help yourself, whine about being a victim afterwards, blame your stupidity on someone else, collect piles of money from that someone else.

Conservative: Roll up your sleeves, plan, prepare, take care of those who need it, revise plan to fit actual conditions. Better safe than sorry.

Who do you want running the country? A smooth talking Chicago community organizer/lawyer who has never done anything but talk?

Or a guy who has faced real adversity?

ROFL ...We never hear that on main stream media.. In my opinion it was Blanco's obsession with power that caused the most delays in N.O.
Don't try looking that up on MSNBC..

I know the lefties hate when we "blame the victim", but I am sure Charles Darwin would have something to say about people who are too stupid to get out of the way of a major hurricane when they 1. have several days notice of the storm, and 2. They live several feet below sealevel and they are in the direct path of the storm. How fucking stupid can you be?

I have no sympathy for any "Katrina victims" that were either too stupid or too lazy to get the fuck out of the way. I lived directly on the Gulf of Mexico for about twenty years, you can bet your ass when they said leave, I left. The people of New Orleans have finally seemed to have learned that lesson.
