Disruption is the only way to highlight economic inequality. If our economy, our government, or the media were structured to address these concerns, then it would have been addressed by now. Their message to Obama is simple: his silence in face of wide spread violence by the state against American citizens is the same as approval for this violence.

I guess that depends on your perspective, Nicky. When I voted for Obama I assumed that he would be willing to listen to his base, or failing that, at least listen to the American People. While he certainly seems to be less deaf than his predecessor, he seems to spend most of time listening more closely to his political opposition and Wall Street. Telling these protesters that they're the reason why he ran for office, and given his record, sounds pretty damn hollow from where I'm standing. And it also demonstrated that he just wanted to shut them up instead of listen to what they had to say.
