NBC National Political reporter Steve Kornacki stated Sunday that the Democratic Party’s grip on the Hispanic vote, a once stronghold for the party, has slipped by double digits over the past 12 years.
“A gender gap — familiar with this one, certainly. Men tied when it comes to this race. Women, a 26 point advantage — again, among Hispanic voters, here, there’s a gender gap as we see with goals of overall voters. Also, age, a big factor here,” Kornacki said. “Voters over fifty, Hispanic voters over fifty, almost a 60 point advantage for Harris and she’s barely leading with Hispanic voters under 50. In fact, among men under 50 Donald Trump, actually leads in our poll by nine points.

Latinos have that certain Machismo thing. They might tolerate a woman but not a woman of color running for president. Curious to know the demographics o this poll, Mexican, Central Americans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans and just what states...just to get a better feel. Telemundo is slightly a Florida channel and leans trump...so I dunno
Hopefully someone will explain to them that trump will deport them just for being brown

That's part of my point.  Dems call all white people racist, whether they are or not.  if brown or black people say something that WOULD be racist if said by a white person, they get a pass, even though it's racist.

to the line where good taste ends to see who I can trigger here.  I can always count on certain posters to jump in.  

 
I roomed with a black guy in college who was my best friend at the time.  He called me "cracker" and I called him "mudbone."  We used to call each other these names in public just to get a gasp from the white politically correct pearl-clutchers.  It was great fun.  

 
BTW, there was more to that conversation which got deleted because ultimately, Big P had to admit that my use of the term "ghetto" was correct.  A ghetto means a concentration of people who have something in common.  Generally they a concentration of people who are poor, but not always.  If they are, saying they are ghetto is not disparaging, it is factual.   Of course, Dems don't seem to like it when you point out facts to them.  There were many Jewish ghettoes in Europe in the past, so ghetto does not necessarily refer only to blacks.  Now that SD,Jr. has died, how many black Jews do you know?  Lol

Lots of fraught words become hurtful over time. After all, the word "Negro" just means "Black" in Spanish. And the word "oriental" just means "East."
I'm not going to research what BigP may have said about the history of the word "ghetto," but here's my take:
"Ghetto" is an Italian word meaning "foundry," or a place where metal is cast. In medieval Venice they decided to force all Jews into a certain part of town and chose the foundry area as the place where they'd be segregated; a/k/a the "ghetto." It caught on and many other such areas were created for Jews and, irrespective of exactly  where they were in a given city. they were called "ghettos."
After that, any place where an outcast group was segregated became known as a ghetto.

I gave at the time that caused BigP to admit that my definition of Ghetto was correct and that it's not automatically racist.  Unfortunately, the thread is gone now because a certain other poster who has been banned from TER TWICE was also on it.  However, I did not know the word came from "foundry".  That's an interesting fact you added.
