1) If a ban is created, there will be enough gun experts to name the mutliclip magazine guns correctly.
2) Why are you and NRA bedwetting already over the bills that will be introduced to close the loopholes from gun show sales and ban mutli-clip magazines.
3) It doesn't matter if you call the gun that killed those teachers and kids Lady Gaga dick suckers--they fired multiple shots into those kids and teachers' heads and you don't need a residency in neurosurgery to figure out they aren't going on to elementary school.

we can discuss all we want. We can have all the debates and laws that we want, but I believe its a little too LATE for this debate.

I have been thinking a lot about guns a lot, along with 300 million other people, after the recent CT tragedy. Guns are too much part of American culture and society. This is like telling people they can't each burger and watch football..

We already know how well bans work. The 18th Amendment never worked.  Paying for Sex is illegal in most of the US, but we still do it. You can make all the laws in the world that you want, ban assault rifles, but there are enough already on the ground, in hands of people for anyone to create havoc, if he should intend do so..  By banning assault rifles, it will only give rise to a huge underground market for these very type of weapons. And even if you ban it successfully, existing owners will be grandfathered in like they were in 1993.  Next election cycle, you get a different party in power, the ban can be reversed. Simple as that....

You can do all the background checks you want, but what good is that if a kid steals his parent's weapon and decides to mass murder everyone?

Guns are part of American culture...Lets learn to live with it.

Sorry for all the doom and gloom.....

who interpreted the decisions and the gap between them and legislation pretty well, probably a lot better than Timbow's imagination.

Assault rifles banned (those with large magazines that can be fired rapidly) and the gun show loophole where 40% of guns are sold illegally help death by suicide and massacre happen.

While bills will be introduced in the House and Senate "Day One" of the next congress, (I know some people here are confused but Mitsy and Lyin' Ryan won't be taking any oaths from Roberts in January) I doubt anything will change.

So Curly W may be right --Massacrepalooza will continue with guns used in Afghanistan turned on elementary school children.  Congress is too gutless to ban these guns on streets and DOJ shelved catching up the data base.

But it's not going to be business as usual--it's going to be more and more massacres.  And the US statistically has more of them than anywhere a dubious statistic to be leading with.

Also, an AR- 15 is only semi -auto and is not  an assault rifle  which is fully automatic -- a machine gun so guns used in Afgany have not been turned on elementary children.
The AR in "AR-15" rifle stands for ArmaLite rifle, after the company that developed it in the 1950s.

America has to start coming to terms with why these aberrations proliferate in America!
