Turns out Limbaugh never said it, but to use Rush's own words, "we know he thinks it".

Limbaugh mistakenly reported that Obama's college thesis was anti-constitution and critical of the founding fathers.  Unfortunately his report was based on a hoax.  When he discovered the fact, rather than apologizing he said the President might not have said it, but "we know he thinks it."

Turn about is fair play...

My post was about misquoting someone and then apologizing for it afterward.  My choice of the misquote attributed to Limbaugh may have been poor, but it really wasn't relevant to the point I was trying to make.
