Geez, I wish Rush still had his football gig.  What an idiot he would have looked like today as Donovan McNabb led the Eagles to the Super Bowl!

that the media (the media, the media, the media) wanted to prop up McNabb because of his race.  He NEVER said anything about his ability to perform.

He absolutely said that McNabb wasn't a good quarterback. Here's the quote"

"I don't think he's been that good from the get-go. I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well."

Rush was wrong then and he's still wrong.

snafu929, you're right about Rush saying the media wanted to prop Donovan McNabb up because of his race(as if he needed any help).  You're absolutely WRONG, WRONG, WRONG about him not making any comments about his ability to perform.
Has Rush ever heard of Dante Culpepper or Steve McNair?  Michael Vick?
Read this and tell me he never made any comment about his abilities:

Here's a short qoute:  "I think the sum total of what you're all saying is that Donovan McNabb is regressing, he's going backwards. And...I'm sorry to say this, I don't think he's been that good from the get-go.

At least Rushie said ``... I'm sorry to say ...''

I guess his point was that McNabb may be overrated because of his race.  Hmmm, I wonder if there has ever been a White Christian man who has been coddled, nurtured, embraced, OVER F'n RATED because he represents a certain group ...

Gee, I sure wish there was a role model out there who could show just what ``a C student'' can accomplish -- All on his OWN, of course (a superhero with a jumpsuit, airplane and a cool grin).
