At the recent Republican congressional retreat in Philly, Republicans were secretly recorded worrying about how they were going to replace Obamacare. It shows that all their talk about quickly repealing and immediately replacing Obamacare is just the usual Republican bullshit.
“Our goal, in my opinion, should be not a quick fix. We can do it rapidly — but not a quick fix,” said Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.). “We want a long-term solution that lowers costs.”
Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) warned his colleagues that the estimated budget savings from repealing Obamacare — which Republicans say could approach a half-trillion dollars — would be needed to fund the costs of setting up a replacement. “This is going to be what we’ll need to be able to move to that transition,” he said.
Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Tex.) worried that one idea floated by Republicans — a refundable tax credit — would not work for middle-class families that cannot afford to prepay their premiums and wait for a tax refund.
Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) said: “It sounds like we are going to be raising taxes on the middle class..."
Tip to dumb ass Republicans: When you gather in private, you should insist that all servers and other workers who aren't part of the invited group be required to be naked at all times so they won't be able to hide one of those pesky cellphones which can record you actually telling the truth when you're talking privately.
The GOP is stuck between a rock and a hard place. If they repeal without replacement, they lose potentially 22 million formerly covered ACA voters. Also, since "red states" are the largest per capita consumers of Federal Social Welfare my advice is to stay healthy my friends, comunicable diseases don't give a twit about whether you have health insurance or not.
.........answer to providing coverage for the un-insured. In effect, Republicans are arguing against they're own principles. People do not call the GOP " The Party of Stupid " for nothing!
They realize vendors such as Verizon, HP, and Lockheed Martin are making millions of dollars of revenue of the Obamacare/ACA (Affordable care act) exchanges. HHS (Health and Human Services) is one of the largest spenders on IT government spending for contracts. Of course these corporations give campaign contributions.
