Mr. Obama said Michigan State would win the NCAA tournament this year and they did not even get to the Final Four. Instead, Connecticut won.

I'm really surprised, Mein, that a man of who keeps track of Mr. Obama's "lies" so well would miss one of this magnitude.

Shouldn't we impeach him or something?

You mean, it is sort of like saying that the promise to close Gitmo was a lie, since he was not sufficiently clairvoyant to anticipate that Congress would cut off funding for all transfers?

Or that Mr. Obama’s promise that you keep your own health plan was a lie because he did not foresee that many employers would cancel their plans, or that insurers would discontinue the plans?

Or that the promise that you could keep your own doctor was a lie, even though he did not anticipate that insurers would have such limited networks and that you might have to pay more to keep your doctor?

In other words, are you are saying that when the President makes an assumption or prediction that turns out to be untrue, that is not necessarily a lie?

H’mm, I never thought of it that way.

Or when the President makes an assertion of a past or existing fact but unknown to him at the time it is not untrue, that’s not a lie either?

You may be on to something here.

Yep. I’m going to have to reverse my position. Sorry, Mein, but nothing on your list qualifies as a “lie,” unless you can show us the President knew the statement was untrue when he made it.

You can’t show that?

Damn, and I thought this was a post of yours with which I could agree.

Obama may be wreckless, incompetent, and naive. He clearly couldn't keep his promises (if he ever intended to) but that's never HIS fault.

How could he keep his PROMISE to have all combat troops out of Afghanistan? What was he? Commander in Chief or sumthin?

And one of these decades, he WILL get to the bottom of why vets are dying on secret "let die lists". He'll get to the bottom of why help never even got off the launch pad to help Ambassador Stevens while he was getting broomhandled. He's gonna keep his promise to "get to the bottom of" the IRS being weaponized aagainst political opponents.

Here is Obama NOT lying.

Yeah, he'll keep those promises, or it will be someone else's fault.

Welcome to Omerika.

the movie 'Bull Durham'. Obama needs to work on his cliches, just like Crash Davis helping Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh prepare for interviews at the major league level. "I'm just happy to be here, hope I can help the ball club", or, "We just gotta play them one day at a time." Why do you think Crash gave Nuke those cliches? Nuke was going to be called up to the major leagues, and they have interviews, cameras, and microphones. The objective is not to say stupid shit. If you don't know, say you don't know.

Is Obama a flat out liar? Probably a stretch, don't you think? But damn, he just kept repeating those, "you can keep your doctor and insurance plans", over and over and over. Where were his speech writers? Where were his so-called experts on health care? Did they tell him to say that shit without really knowing if it was true over and over and over.

The fact that Obama DID NOT FORESEE or DID NOT ANTICIPATE is NOT AN ANSWER. How about a "I DON'T KNOW", but I'll get back to you?

Liar, NO! Foolish, unprepared, a bit stupid, YES!

A surprising comment from President Barack Obama, at the Univision forum in Florida earlier, on things he has learned after four years: "You can't change Washington from the inside."

It's a tricky thing to claim outsider status after serving in the White House for four years (and in the Senate before that), after running on a hope and change message, and it is not an especially helpful comment for a president running for reelection with a plea to voters to let him finish the work he began but hasn't closed out.

even if someone is reading me one of your posts, St. Croix. But I’m sorry to report that you have fungus on your shower shoes- you’ll never make it to the bigs with fungus on your shower shoes.

Aside from your podiatric character defect, however, I agree with you. Clearly, there was serious negligence involved in the statements. Remember that all of the President’s speeches are vetted by both a substance guy and a political guy. Yet somehow they both missed this one repeatedly.

Now what Mr. O should have done is just come out and said “Guys, I got it wrong.”
Instead, he tried to justify the predictions by saying he was talking about narrower circumstances.

On the other hand, maybe he decided to go with the curveball instead of heat. Remember, everyone can hit heat in the big leagues.
