Rachel Maddow is the most watched news show in cable, handily beating Hannity and Carlson. Faux is hemorrhaging and now in third place. ARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!

Fox News had two of the five highest-rated shows in cable news in January, Hannity and Tucker Carlson Tonight, with the month marking 19 consecutive years at number one—based on January 2020 through January 2021 ratings
What we’ve seen post inauguration is a rather precipitous drop in the ratings among all the cable news channels. CNN looks to be taking the biggest hit.

Maddow’s always had strong ratings, but she can’t carry the network. Fox will continue its dominating streak as the ratings leader, and come next January, will celebrate 20 consecutive years as the ratings champion.

1) Of COURSE all cable news ratings dropped after the election, which always happens. CNN's had gained the most. So naturally they are taking the biggest hit.
2) Fox is NOT a lock to continue its "dominating streak" because Trump and his supporters have abandoned it in droves for OANN and Newsmaxx. They aren't coming back.
3) Fox, in fear of law suits just dropped Lou Dobbs, one of its most popular hosts. More viewers headed for the exits.
Please go back to huffing your glue.

It’s not a post-election drop, it’s a post Trump drop.

I don't know the hourly line-ups of shows (morning shows, etc.).  Can anybody help me here?  I don't have an extensive knowledge of the whole cable news and COMMENTARY, TV news, webcast-only options.
.
What happens if you add all the Left and Right shows in each block?  Over the years, I think that Fox has stood alone (or mostly alone) in the Right leaning column. On the Left side, at least during the Trump regime because anyone not in 100% agreement with Trump is against Trump, there are CNN, MSNBC, The Young Turks, Axios, The Daily Beast, etc.. I'm not sure which of the smaller ones are cable or just streaming.  Maybe I'll add Alex Jones and Limbaugh to the Righty side but those are single shows (a few hours), not continuous 24-hour programming.
.
Anyway, getting to my point, for any single given hour, the head-to-head audience might be (made up numbers to illustrate the point):
Righty-Fox: 300,000
Righty-Limbaugh: 100,000
Others?: 100,000
------------------------------------------
Righty-Total: 500,000
(OANN and America News came in late, 2018/9?)
.
Lefty-CNN: 200,000
Lefty-MSNBC: 200,000
Lefty-CBS: 140,000
Lefty-Axios: 100,000
Lefty-The Young Turks: 60,000
Others?: 100,000
---------------------------------------------
Lefty-Total: 800,000
.
I argue that Fox appears to be the sole leader in some time blocks because their audience is less fragmented. If you want to tune in to Trump apologists and yes-men, you go to Fox. If you want to listen to the latest Trump critiques, you can choose Maddow, Cuomo, Cooper, et al., thus splitting the audience in those time blocks.
.
Has anyone done that analysis? Is there anyplace to get the raw data to do that analysis here?

It didn't before. I am also sure you are well aware numerous people on the Right are pissed at Fox. Did you also consider that Fox led the ratings because Progressives viewing habits were split between MSNBC and CNN?

Yes, the rise of Newsmax and OANN has pulled viewers from Fox, but despite that competition, they were still the top network in cable news for 2020.

I can see MSNBC giving Fox a run for their money, but they just don’t have the lineup to oust Fox from the top spot.

...Dobbs had the HIGHEST-rated show on Fox News..  The Murdochs are really shitting their pants if they cut Dobbs loose.

Your link points out Dobbs had the highest-rated show on Fox BUSINESS News, which is a separate and low-rated network. Here's what your link said about FBN: "Dobbs was its highest-rated host, albeit on a relatively low-rated network."
I think Fox just killed their own low-rated network.
Anyway, just wanted to correct the record before some righty did it.

Too much? You weren’t busting his balls at all. In fact, you did everything you could to avoid a BigPapasan meltdown in response. I do suspect he’s on the spectrum, and he doesn’t react well when his precious research is blown out of the water.
