a fuck? SPs do read this board but few post. Posting an opinion about this board's topics might not be a good marketing decision for a SP.

firstly, the bizarre read counts are not unique to this forum, other boards get it.

Why? Some of it has to do with web crawlers, and google searches, and Facebook link hits, and the like.

Sometimes, its the poster themself who keeps increasing their page reads because of links, or browser refreshers etc.

I once accused Xiaominglover1 of doing just that. don't recall if he ever responded or not.

Also, since the new TER format was introduced with the classic TER website still live and accessible, there is the potential for doubling up on the page reads.

Add to that the increase on European readership via the German language site, and you have a partial explanation for the erratic nature of page read counts.

But other than bragging rights, what the fuck does it matter if your post got 120 hits in 2 days, and xfean gets 23,590 hits in 1 hour? Maybe xfean has a network of friends on an email list or facebook page that engorges the page read #'s? What's the BFD? This is small stuff. You should be more concerned about the proliferation of sexually repressive laws and actions by the government at a time when sexual awareness is expanding beyond the point of containment by Dogma and Deputies.

Pitch is right though; some of us are actually busy enough not to come on the board very often. Too, besides the nonsense, many MANY guys here have made it perfectly clear that they resent any input from a provider (I think it interferes with their idea of fantasy GFE [fantasies that include no opinions, no words and nothing but in and out action]).

Me, I tend to forget to come here because I'm holding two civvie jobs as well as being a provider. I'll go to my local boards first, and then TER if it isn't too late. By the time eleven rolls around I'm ready to call it a night.

There is a huge disconnect between the number of users on line - which ranges from 4 to 5 thousand at any given time - and the very small number of reads of posts on any board which rarely exceeds 200. I presume that means that the great majority of TER users go straight to the reviews and ignore the boards.

    I would have though that the same software that tracks reads of posts could do so for reviews. This would also be a big marketing tool for TER as it would give some idea of the power of a single review.

Do you happen to know the answer as to why read counts for reviews are not recorded?

DK.  i'm still walking like Fred Sanford, sad to say.
