SEATTLE – (5 April 2020) Updated COVID-19 estimates find that need for hospital beds, ICU beds, and ventilators needed to deal with the COVID-19 epidemic are less than previously estimated.

The revised forecasts reflect “a massive infusion of new data,” said Dr. Christopher Murray, Director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington’s School of Medicine. New data on COVID-19 health service use from multiple US states, including New York, Massachusetts, Georgia, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Florida, and California, has led to revisions down in estimated need to deal with the pandemic.

Called the Governor of Washington a "Snake"...Inslee was on the right path, yes he was demanding, he bitched and hollered but now you see the results. But I caution, its early. Waiting to see how the Appalachian states do along with Tennessee . California is looking good so far, as long as Guilfoyl keep bangin Donnie, we're good...lol
Now for trump to just shut up and let this play out.....

The last I heard, the states with the most deaths are California, New York, New Jersey, Washington, and Louisiana, ALL states with Dem governors running the local show.  The only state with no coronavirus as of Sunday was Wyoming, a red state.  (That may have changed since then).  I would like to know what stats you are using for your conclusion that Red states are doing worse than blue states in managing the epidemic.  Got a link?  (Other than raw story - Lol)

Up to 150,000 deaths still possible if we continue with strict social distancing.  Dumbass Donnie is setting a bad example to his moron army by refusing to wear a a mask, so we will see where that goes.

Over 3000 deaths on April 16 alone predicted as the peak if we continue to social distance.  But trump doesn’t believe in that.

This is sort of like saying other that that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the show?

You need to stop using deaths as the sole metric of a good response.  Washington had the first cases at a time when the national testing capacity was its lowest.  New York might be the most international city in the country with a very high population density and a highly utilized public transportation system that is perfect for massive spread of an infectious respiratory disease.  California simply has more people than anywhere else.  You can't use deaths to compare those places with Wyoming.

It's not fair to say that all red states have been bad about this.  Governors Mike DeWine (R-Ohio) and Larry Hogan (R-Maryland) have been really aggressive instituting guidelines and their states are doing fairly well.

NY was always going to have the most deaths no matter what, but they are paying the price for not closing schools faster.  Louisiana is paying the price for letting Mardi Gras happen.

1) The epidemic started in the states you list so it has had the TIME to spread and do damage. It has ZERO to do with the political affiliation of the governor.
2) Not all states are equal. California has, so far, been doing MUCH better than NY because Newsom put in strict rules before Cuomo did.
3) The first three states you list have the greatest population density in the country. The disease spreads best in densely occupied populations. None of this has anything to do with political affiliations.
4) The ONLY states not in lockdown -- Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota -- are ALL red states. So are all the ones who recently -- and too late, most likely -- shut down.

are published months from now,  we will know which red state governors fucked up, if any.  I think Cuomo has a problem from ignoring the recommendation he got to purchase more ventilators a year ago.  Instead, he asked for recommendations on how to best use the 2000 he had on hand, where were gone in the bat of an eye.  Hopefully, governors of these big states will invest some money preparedness before something like this happens again.  They cannot depend on the Feds to mobilize for the whole country on short notices when this begins as a localized problem.

It's not clear yet that lack of ventilators will be a factor in the disease outcome (if they can move them around as needed.)  Although NY could blow up more, so can't say for sure.
.
I think the big blame game is going to be who let everyone mingle early on ... such as a lot of NY democrats calling Trump xenophobic and telling everyone to come out and hug a Chinese for the New Years celebration, take in a movie, etc and that Trump was racist scare mongering!  (That shit disappeared down the memory hole on liberal news broadcasts awful fast!)

So I hope they are. In any case, it's important to keep the quarantines up because if we blink now there will be.a rebound, with the prospect of another in the fall. These measures need to continue until there's a vaccine, which is the only long-term solution.

So you propose that over 50% of the work force along with about 50% of businesses simply stay home on welfare for the next year plus? That might work for you since you are retarded, err retired, and I suppose it would work for your BFF too, since he's been living on charity for most of his life, but for the rest of us it's simply not an option for us to close our doors and stay at home on a straight vodka diet like you do for the next year plus. Not to mention that even if we do this and COMPLETELY destroy our economy, what about the rest of the world? None of this will do us a bit of good if the rest of the world doesn't follow suit, unless of course you want to build that wall that you hate so much.

You really are a moron, aren't you?

Go to bed drunk and stupid

Wake up sober and stupid.

Wash rinse and repeat Bob.

it could be that they don't yet know about all the people who died at home and have not been discovered yet.  Once decomp starts offending the neighbors, the authorities will figure it out.  However, its still good news, they won't be going to the hospital and raising these numbers.

the numbers down in NY.  They know Cuomo will get blamed for lack of preparedness at the state level, and the Dems can't have that.  He's the golden boy right now, despite his incompetence.  Compared to our gov, snowflake Newsome, Cuomo looks like a complete moron.

Has your Chink pea brain, obsessed with imagining what will happen to the economy, thought for a moment about what the alternative to quarantining/social distancing is? Most likely, it means we'll briefly control the spread of the virus and -- once the measures are lifted -- it will take off again, certainly by Fall. This will result in many more deaths and possibly the catastrophic failure of our health care system, which is already being ground into pulp. And what will all that do to the precious economy?
So name your poison.
And, no, we won't be saved by HCQ and/or plasma-derived immunities. Only a vaccine will do it.
But, don't worry. Your toxic lifestyle means you probably won't be around in any case.
And if you are, you'll still be profoundly dense.

With massive unemployment and huge increases in homelessness as a result, just how do you expect to keep people "socially distant"

You are right, (accidentally of course) about "name your poison". Long term unemployment in the 30% range will undoubtedly end up with MILLIONS of people living in the streets, and just how the fuck do you expect to enforce your quarantine with millions and millions of homeless people either crammed into shelters or living on the streets?

With a Multi Triillion dollar federal cash infusion we can shut down the economy for a few weeks, maybe even a couple of months and by increasing the national debt by fifty percent in a single year we can still have an economy to come back to, but shutting the country down for an entire fucking year will guarantee that there won't be any kind of economy left to restart, and the fucking Chinks who started this whole thing will immediately take over as the worlds dominant power.

For a jew, you are incredibly stupid. Actually even for a non jew you are incredibly stupid.

Speaking of toxic lifestyles, Just how many days have you spent in a hospital over the last decade or so? I have spent a grand total of ZERO. I am in PERFECT fucking health. Even you aren't a big enough liar to claim the same.

As for my health, don't worry about it. My doc just told me yesterday I'm doing GREAT.
I'll take a dump on your grave. Assuming you have one.
More likely your corpse will be consumed by your own pigs.

Re: It's going to hit cities first, Goober Florida sat on their ass forever.  So did Georgia with the Righty Gov actually saying, "I only found out 24 hours ago it can be spread even if the person has no symptoms."  Even your Savior wouldn't try that one.  There are still about 7 states with no lock-down.....all run by Righties.

Oh, and the day after the retard in Georgie locked things down, he opened the beaches back up.
One can hope that CDL and GaGambler move to FL or GA and those two can advise the FL and GA governors-We all be saved. LOL

BTW before you start lying about your medical history, there are several of us here who know the truth. Lie all you want, but only the likes of your little butt buddy are going to believe you.

First of all, I don't discuss my medical history here. But only an imbecile like YOU would try to conflate how many days I've spent in a hospital in the last 5 to 20 years (which isn't many) with how healthy I am NOW.
In fact, right NOW -- which is all that matters -- I am extremely healthy and fit. YOU, OTOH, are AT LEAST as big a drunk as I am BUT you're also a reformed smoker. So your lungs have damage you can't see or feel and that probably extends to your circulatory system as well. Look up smoking damage.
Lie all you want but that's what we expect of you.
That and stupidity.
