I'm old enough to remember when the word fascism actually meant and referred to something real, as in Mussolini's Italy, Franco's Spain and the Perons in Argentina.

As an aside, I'd be more concerned about the USA becoming more like Mussolini Fascist state rather than any kind of modern European socialist state.

and I agree, hippies know how to chill, relax, create and let right brain play.  :)  The ones I know aren't very political but tend to lean left.  I live in a very liberal college town, made of two counties, and two demographics.  One county is democrat and poor, and one county is republican and upper middle.

I was recently to a Madonna concert more gays and lesbians than you can shake a stick at, the gay guy next to me was cool, the lesbian couple next to my date was cool, the married couple from LA behind us was cool, we all had a great time and sorry to see it end.

You should try it sometime, you don't have to worry about being cool, just have be in it.

I like Maddona, I don't listen to her music that much, she's the kind of intellegent provocative artist I like. She brought Borat to my attention for the first time. I have Gay friends, I'm just not in to the gay culture, not knocking their life style it's just to flamboyant for my taste.

Every one is a facist, unless you sew your own moccasins, it is what it is.

I'm not so sure we'd recognize Mussolini or what would pass as his stand in. The American electorate is sleeping walking, they are as likely as not to vote for the next shiny object.

I was door knocking for my local state representative in the state legislature. These guys are at the bottom of the ticket and are usually lacking manpower to conduct a strong campaign. You'll rarely get as much appreciatation from these guys then from anyother candidate.
