1. Social Security- if a fund manager ran a mutual fund the way the goverment runs social security he would be crucified.
Democrats think it's great. Thanks FDR

2. Medicare- you pay into out of every pay check your whloe life and IF you live long enough to qualify for as much as an aspirin you must have a suplemental plan because what you have been paying into for the past 50 years will not cover the whole tab.
If they offered a private health insurance like this they would be crucified.
Thanks LBJ

3.FEMA- well now that is the dems latest cry as if it was Bush who signed it in.....NOPE. Thanks Jimmy Carter

These are just some of the major classic failures signed in by dems. DO WE NEED MORE?

if social security is anathema to republicans, they've had 6 years of Majority to remedy the situation (& all the others you mentioned) ...did they? Did THEY EVEN TRY???? ... 'nuff said

You may not have heard of the "left wing media" or the dems good pals AARP. Both lie and scare the hell out of the elderly so they back off.

so they have no balls to fix what they see is wrong??   What happened to "country first"? I suppose that's just a slogan.

Yep it is ALL the democrats'/liberals' fault .... boo hooo hoo

I suppose the TRILLION dollars we wasted in Iraq is also their fault.

Here's my advice:  take a dose of reality & sleep off the hangover of stupidity.

Here's what you lefties had to say about Social Security when Bush tried to fix it. You were wrong then and you're wrong now.

It was one of the few things that GW tried to do that I was 100% behind. but you socialists would have nothing to do with it.

Dictatorship? No, not quite yet.

But how is the refusal of the Executive Branch under George W. Bush to comply with lawful and constitutional demands of Congress that much different? The Executive Branch should be held accountable to the People, and not be above the law.

Install ME in the Oval Office, and you'll have a Doctatorship. But I'm a good guy, I'll even give the right wing conservatives Equal Time, which would be my Fairness Doctrine.

Truth is, from where I'm sitting, this current experiment in Democracy is a faling experiment. Failing because of one simple design flaw: the Human failing of selfishness. We're all in it for ourselves and our greatest gain.
The Greater Good goes as far as the pocketbook.

I'll expand on that after some of the good people in here see fit to castigate me as a socialist. Which is fine.

is that the best argument you can make?: when out-debated, say something totally childish.

(keep in mind, many of our constitutional freedoms have been assailed by the current administration ...)

Let me respond by sending you back to your second "childish" post and name calling.

What constitutionl freedoms have you lost? are you a threat to us?

By the way; glad to see the DNC convention in the streets of Denver and St. Paul are both over for another 4 years!

you may be correct on that issue ... I don't have the time to research or debate that point.

But I also know that this country is much worse off now than it was before W took office.

I was a strong Reagan & Bush (1st) supporter.
But their legacies have been tarnished by the present administration.

That "issue" alone will cost me hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars over my lifetime if your guys "fix" to "Socialist Security" is enacted.

This is on top of every other tax increase he has proposed.
