Seriously though, the two organizations are independent from one another. They each make there own rules. Only the Dems have super delegates who are free to vote for whomever they wish, regardless of the voter’s desires. This backup plan was put in place by the Dems because they knew their voters would probably be stupid sooner or later. It could be that the Republicans either don’t know how dumb their members might be or they don’t want to admit it. Then again, they might trust them and are not the power mongers that the Dems show themselves to be.

over the years have continued to try to screw each other out of votes so they have diluted votes, like stock splits.

The Democrat Leaders do not want their flock to have the the final say on who is elected.
That honor is bestowed on the chosen ones.
