"The Dems were happy to make an issue of Stormy Daniels ..." but only to point out Trump's "Christian faith (Thou shalt not commit adultery)" and "family values" hypocrisy.

The REAL issue was Trump's falsification of business records for the purpose of covering up his dalliance with Stormy for the purpose of influencing the election. That also involved campaign finance fraud,  listing the Cohen reimbursement expenses as "legal fees" for the Trump Org business instead of listing it as a campaign expense. (That still might lead to charges of Federal Tax fraud for Trump Org.) Another issue was Pecker planning with Trump for Pecker to pay off McDougal to "catch and kill" her story of her affair with Trump ... and not listing that payoff as an unreported (hence, illegal) campaign donation. (Pecker expected to be reimbursed by Trump but ... Trump pay a debt? LOL!)

The Reps played "But what about!!!!" some celebrities who also paid to "catch and kill" or to cover up stories about their affairs but were not charged with crimes!! Why not? Because they weren't violating election laws or business finance laws when they did so!

I think the impact will be minimal, if any. I can see a SuperPAC running a very dark attack ad that ties that episode in Emhoff’s life in with other negative attacks. He’s not the candidate, but the Emhoff scandal could be used as a counter to attacks on Trump’s scandals by trying to create an “everybody does it” underlying message in such an ad.

At some point, Trump or more likely one of his more radical surrogates (think Laura Loomer) might start asking what happened to the baby? Late term abortion? Put up for adoption?

I get it, no one’s perfect. Personally I would rather have a president who screws an intern — Clinton — than one who screws the entire country — Biden. But if you banged your nanny and got her pregnant wouldn’t you think maybe morally lecturing men on ethics wasn’t your lane?
