Methane will blanket your own home if you live out in the sticks and it rains after the leaves have fallen off the trees. Methane is everywhere. It shouldn’t come out your faucet of course, but it’s nothing to be concerned about.
No, randon is not from drilling. It’s from the decay of natural radioactive materials. I have a randon vent pipe in my own garage.
Chromium is NOT a toxic pollutant. It’s a chemical element and a metal. Number 24 on the good ole periodic table. It’s a key ingredient in making stainless steel. There’s plenty of metal salts that’s potentially dangerous. Zinc cough drops help suppress viral reproduction. But if you were to burn zinc oxide and breathe in the fumes you’re the one who won’t be reproducing anymore.
"I think Kamala Harris and the Democrats should immediately announce a panel to investigate the spike in chronic diseases and conditions among children these past years and invite different figures to participate. This is a big issue for millions and could easily tip the election." -- Andrew Yang

Copycat Kamala. Stole "no tax on tips." Now steal RFKjr (isn't he a conspiracy theorist nutcase??)
.
Should steal "no tax on Social Security" too. And whatever else Trump comes up with before November.
.
She's "tough on the border" just like Trump. ha ha, what a bunch of bald face liars. The only sad part is that her Democrat lickspittles either believe the lie or are happy to go along with it.
How tf does Andrew Yang says equal now Kamala is stealing this too? Fester you’re legitimately a shit starter with your fake news.
I don't know if there have already been such studies, and I'm not doing a search, but in the past few years:
- Flint, MI water supply contaminated with lead
- There are methane (and radon) gas leaks from pipelines, storage tanks, gas wells and nearby the gas wells
- Oil and oil products (fuel oil spills, gasoline spills) harms the surrounding regions.
- Guns are THE leading cause of death (which is a pretty chronic condition!) of children in the US
- Industrial pollution is all over the place ... although heavy metals cases (like Erin Brockovich) and toxins (like Love Canal, NY) haven't been in the headlines lately.

Flint of course is a hell hole, but the reason why there’s lead in the water supply is because it was used to solder copper water pipes back in the day. The amount of lead exposure is too high, because any lead exposure is too much, but it’s not all that high. We all were exposed to far more lead from cars burning leaded gasoline in the 70’s.
Methane is natural. It comes out your ass. Leaves fall in autumn and rot. Methane is produced. It’s produced whenever organic material decays.
Radon is all around you. There’s small amounts of uranium ore in the soil all around you. It naturally decays into lead over a long period of time. Radon gas is released in the process. Industry has nothing to do with it.
There’s heavy metals everywhere. Ever seen reddish orange soil? It’s that color because of heavy metals like iron ore. Alumina (aluminium oxide) is everywhere, it’s in clay and it’s used to make bricks.
"Back in the day," (early 1900s), the water pipes installed were primarily cast iron and lead, not copper. As part of the remediation, Flint replaced thousands of LEAD PIPES. When the water supply was switched over to the Flint River, inadequate water treatment led to the leaching (loss of) decades of protective phosphate scale on the lead pipes and lead exposure shot up.

Methane comes out of your ass (as farts). Methane is not supposed to come out of your water faucets or blanket the neighborhoods with much higher than normal ("natural") methane in the air.
.
Elevated radon concentrations are a consequence of drilling. When oil and gas pockets are drilled / tapped, large amounts of radon escape, as well. (Instead of slowly seeping up through the "natural" grounds over millions of years, it can now gush up through the huge drilled and fractured (fracked) rock layers that previously kept it trapped, below. Radon levels rise to levels way above background from minerals in the soils.
.
When people talk about heavy metal POLLUTION, they are not talking about natural iron or alumina. Chromium is a toxic pollutant from industrial processes. Remember this scene from Erin Brockovich?

If it ever escapes, we're fucked.

Once you drill through / damage the rock covers or domes over the oil / gas / radon source, it starts leaking all over the place. Fracking makes it worse (more cracks and fissures). Gas and oil follow the path of least resistance: up and into the ground and water supplies. It extends beyond drilling sites to pipeline leaks and storage site leaks. Neighborhoods have been decimated by gas saturated water supplies. They turn on their water taps and (ignitable) gas comes out. They can sometimes light a match to a glass of water and set fire to the outgassing methane. "... but it's nothing to be concerned about."
.
Radon is trapped underground. It SLOWLY leaches up through the ground and penetrates / passes through floors of houses, even the concrete slabs. Radon accumulates in enclosed spaces and reaches unsafe levels. THAT small trickle of radon is why someone told you to install an active ventilation system. When there is DRILLING and FRACKING, the radon no longer trickles but gushes up through every nook and cranny.

"Chromium is NOT a toxic pollutant."??? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromium_toxicity
"Hexavalent chromium and its compounds are toxic when inhaled or ingested. ...
.
"In the U.S. state of California, an epidemic of hexavalent chromium exposure led to a class-action lawsuit in 1993: Anderson, et al. v. Pacific Gas and Electric. The Pacific Gas and Electric Company had dumped more than 1.4 billion litres (370 million gallons) of wastewater tainted with hexavalent chromium into the Mojave Desert. This contaminated the groundwater, and caused widespread illness among the people of Hinkley, California, a small community nearby. As of May 2017, the mandated environmental remediation measures are ongoing. ..." [Hinkley, CA is the Erin Brockovich case: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erin_Brockovich_(film) ] ...

"Industrial Pollution is less dangerous than people think it is."
Which people? The polluters themselves? People who do not or cannot think ENOUGH. They and their ilk are probably brain damaged by the industrial pollution that they deny exists. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Canal

You Googled your reply but willy knows it by heart. He’s demonstrated his knowledge of science on this board for years and years and years.
There’s no such gas as “radon.” It’s “randon.” willy should know - he wrote “randon” TWICE and he even has a pipe in his garage to vent “randon” gas. If anyone should know it’s “randon” not “radon,” it’s willy wonka the science wonk.
Don’t worry IMP, I’ve seen the videos of people lighting their taps on fire. This wouldn’t happen if someone is on city water due to the gravitational forces used to pump water to people’s homes via water towers. So you’d have to have fracking very close by and be on well water. But I’m not sure why the methane wouldn’t just burp out the top of the well. Perhaps a barrier was added to prevent surface contamination. Seems like an easy fix.
I would think fracking would *slow* the release of radon. Fracking is just displacing air pockets (and oil) with water, which fills voids. The radon then would escape more slowly having no porous material to pass through.
Chromium is a fantastic element and has been used for over a century to make a wide verity of beautiful and brightly colored pigments. It has a host of safe industrial uses. One form, sodium dichromate is dangerous if unsafe practices are used. But I’ll remind you that sodium metal will explode on contact with water, chloride gas can be used to suffocate people, but heat that sodium up until it’s molten and lower it into a flash full of chorine gas and you will get a beautiful yellow light show and the end result is something you can sprinkle on your french fries.
Chemistry is not as scary as you think it is.
Sorry willy, you can try to cover your ass with all the scientific jargon you want to, but in reality you're just a gubmint drone moron.
I busted your pathetic ass when you didn't even know the gas is "radon," not "randon." You tried to cover your ass by posting about radon again but it was too late - you've been exposed as a moron loser. Give up the pretense, dummy.
Well PigBapa, no one ever accused me of having tiny thumbs. Quite frankly I might as well be slapping pork chops against my phone. I also don’t have a knowledge of hydrogeology that I’m yet satisfied with, but you’ll be amazed what you can learn just watching on Youtube after you get home from work and ripp a few monster hits off your bong.
Don't blame the size of your hands/fingers. Are you really so stupid as to think anyone would believe that lame excuse?? You spelled EVERY...SINGLE...WORD of that post correctly, EXCEPT for "randon" which you misspelled TWICE. You're just a frontin' loser sucking off the gubmint teat.

What about gun deaths?
If you look at overall violent crime, including gun crimes, the rate goes up and down with the seasons. Crime goes up in the summers and goes down in the winters. This is because when people spend more time indoors they run into fewer people, and thus experience fewer conflicts. During the pandemic world wide crime rates plummeted. One country was the exception: the USA. And this was due to the nation wide year long domestic terror campaign waged by the Democrat party via BLM.
This is correct. The USA white population has similar crime statistics to white populations in Europe. USA high crime rate is entirely due to non-white populations.
The topic is, "a panel to investigate the spike in chronic diseases and conditions among children these past years" and NOT "firearm homicide rates by race." Not checking, but I think that most recent school shootings, that often take the lives of several children at once, are perpetrated by white shooters.

17 people have died in school shootings in the entire USA this year. 380 people were killed in shootings this year in the city of Chicago alone.
.
I asked xAI Grok what percentage of Chicago murders were committed by blacks. It estimated 70.5%. That means 269 murders by blacks in just one city. Yeah, whites are the problem. Keep spinning.
Demwits use for abortion. Because ONE girl who was raped and impregnated in the past year was able to get an abortion, she becomes the poster girl for needing a federal law allowing all abortions with no restrictions. The dots don't connect, but the Dems prey on people's fears of "What if?" scenarios.
