Let’s review the 1st Amendment:

 
“Congress shall make no law…prohibiting the free exercise…[of] the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to *petition the Government for a redress of grievances*”

 
The entire purpose of protesting is to petition the government for a redress of grievances.  

 
Therefore, is it a legitimate form of protest to block roads? Or protest businesses? Or protest in front of people’s private homes?

 
It’s one thing to protest say on the Capitol Mall. Or at a governor’s mansion. It’s quite another to use domestic terrorism and call it a “protest”. You’re not going to have your grievances met by having an angry mob try to set someone’s home on fire. Or run a truck off the road. Or throw orange paint at the Mona Lisa.  

 
Democrats have weaponized protesting to a vile degree. And what’s more, protests are largely astroturf these days. People are paid to protest things they don’t care about. That should be illegal.
