Both are in the hospital but their condition isn't known. The gunman is also wounded but no one knows how badly, who he is or why he did it. Trump, BTW, was in Florida.
I'm sure we all can agree we hope the two Guardsmen will be OK.

It's being reported that both Guardsmen are dead and the shooter is in grave condition.  This is horrible. Please don't jump to any conclusions about the shooter's motives until more is known and released by law enforcement.

But the Gov. of WVa now says his report they had died was premature.

It's now being reported that the Guardsmen are alive but in critical condition.  The governor of West Virginia was the oroginal source of the information about the Guardsmen. The governor was wrong.

Here's how the Times described his service: "An Afghan intelligence official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t allowed to comment publicly on the issue, confirmed that Mr. Lakanwal had served in Kandahar in one of what were known as Zero Units, which were formally part of the Afghan intelligence service. The Zero Units were a paramilitary force that had been trained for nighttime raids targeting suspected Taliban members, and were accused by human rights groups of widespread killings of civilians."
In other words, this was part of a legitimate US effort that went wrong. The guy would have been on a Taliban list of Afghan collaborators marked for murder. So it's completely understandable that he was admitted. It's just that in this case it went terribly wrong. At a minimum he will spend the rest of his life in jail.

It almost sounds like he felt betrayed somehow by the U.S. government and wanted retribution. With Trump's control over the DHS and the FBI, we may never know for sure.

And in April 2025 the Trump administration granted it to him. Can't blame that on Biden.

Seems like i was spot on with my description of the man..... didn't jump to conclusions.  Was an immigrant....LEGALLY here.  People say he was feeling "isolated" prior to the drive.   There was a warning email sent to immigration about this man (PRIOR WARNINGS).

Warnings were issued in 2024 to a local community group that helps immigrants.  A person sent two emails to US Committee for Refugees and Immigration about this man feeling isolated and wasn't being a father and couldn't keep a job.   You know "red flags".    

So why did the trump administration approve his claim for amnesty in April, 2025 with all these "red flags" and warning signs?

Who knows.
