Pete Hegset isn’t against women serving in the military he doesn’t want them In the infantry.
Your statement,
“He's clearly against women serving in the military altogether.”
Is purely “your” supposition.
This idea of putting women into ground combat was foisted upon the military starting in the Obama years and it’s a bad one.
As for me I served in rotary wing aviation and as such I served with many female Marines. In fact one girl in my shop was one of the first female crew chiefs in the FMF.
Another girl who I took to Iraq got her skins and flew on 53s as a door gunner and later as a serving crew chief on V22s. She had also done a B Billet as a hat (Drill Instructor) on Paris Island. As such she was hard core. In addition she went all the way to Black Belt in MCMAP. She nor any of them ever wanted to be a grunt. Not one. Women can and do serve in lots of roles that can land them in combat. On my last trip to Iraq a girl in my MOS caught a chunk af shrapnel and recieved the Purple Heart.
Another friend of mine got forced out during the Clinton years and came back in as a Nurse in the Navy. Later in his career he did a tour at the naval safety center studying the effects of carrying weight on the human body as it relates to being an infantry man. The study concluded that men could only carry 33% of their body weight and still move effectively. Women on the other hand could only carry 25%. Also the women suffered a disproportional level of knee and back injuries. That study went up through the pentagon to the Obama administration who promptly shit canned it.
As I stated above putting females into ground infantry units with men will weaken the unit because the men in the unit will ignore the mission to protect them. The Israeli army has studied this at length. That’s why they put them in all female units such as armor where they do just fine.
Why do you want to weaken our infantry in the name of DEI?
Here’s a question for ya? Are you so far around the bend you thinks trans women are women? If so what if a provider showed up to “your” door and said provider was a dude that had transitioned? Would you as “HER” to stay?
