Actually the source is C-SPAN.  The Independent was reporting on the C-SPAN story. Do you have a problem with C-SPAN too?

went you get caught trying to pass off a fake story as "news."   Why not just quote Raw Story?  They're promoting the same kinds of drivel.   So now you are going to a Texas publication who is trotting out Marjorie Taylor Green, Megan Kelley and Tucker Carlson as examples of "former Trump supporters" who have turned on Trump.   I'll bet I can find some threads on this site that had you, and other libs here calling Green a lunatic who cannot be believed when she was FOR Trump.  Kelley and Carlson are discredited opinion hosts who are in decline and will do anything to try to revive their brand.  Only a moron would believe the same pollsters that said Kamala would win in 2024 who are hyping Trump's alleged unpopularity with the public based on polls which are easily manipulated by targeting an audience and how the question is worded.

Gas prices are a dollar below what they were in 2022 under Biden.  They will come down as it gets closer to the election and THAT will extinguish the Left's complaints about the economy.

While I'm glad that some trump voters have turned on him -and I welcome that better late than never- I don't have empathy for them nor think that empathy would be productive. The evidence was overwhelming that trump would turn a second term into a vindictive shit-show with no regard for the Constitution, rule of law, or the will or concerns of the people. These voters were responsible for trump 2.0 and turning on him now doesn't fix the mess than he is creating.

So you've never made a mistake? Never believed something that turned out to be false? Never wished you had done things differently?

Because some of y’all speak like you’re perfect and everybody else deserves stones thrown at them.

A lot of people were lied to. A lot of people were manipulated. “America First.” Fear politics. Division politics. I could keep going down the list.

But we are not going to move forward as a country if everybody stays stuck in self-righteousness and outrage.

At some point, Americans are going to have to come together, unify, and remember we are supposed to be the United States — not permanently divided states.

Your point is taken. Of course I've made mistakes, but I have admitted to and learned from them. Good judgment comes from experience and some of that comes from bad judgment. But I don't expect empathy from others. What I hope for is that others will recognize and respect my character for admitting and correcting or not repeating a mistake. It's not self-righteousness or outrage that I have to these converts, but I have no empathy for them. It should have been obvious to voters in 2024 that not only would trump not admit or learn from a mistake but double down and attack anyone who opposed him. These are not favorable characteristics in anyone much less a president.  So what are these converts going to do about the mess that trump is creating?

empathy for Trump, who continues to wreak destruction on the country, through Constitution and international stability. Or to have empathy towards those who continue to support and enable him.

And this guy voted 3 TIMES, at what point to we say...enough now?
But I can appreciate that you get the, "A lot of people were lied to. A lot of people were manipulated. “America First.” Fear politics. Division politics"
Sad thing is, some or maybe most are still susceptible to his rhetoric...just look as some on this board who defend trump, no matter what. They're still blinded or mesmerized by this. This is where I find it hard to have "Empathy" for those.

I'm not sure another 9/11 attack could bring us together now.

Empathy for former MAGA supporters and empathy for Trump are two very separate things. Empathy for anything related to Trump is a very different thing. That’s not what we’re discussing.

My neighbor, great guy… huge Trump guy. We get along great… he’s not my enemy. A lot of my friends, being in law enforcement are Trump guys and we’re cool.
I just don’t view trump supporters as the “enemy”.
I’m not sure if the feeling is mutual though 🤔🤔🤔

All of those who feel lied to and manipulated, may feel they have an enemy. See, if you READ THE BOOK, you'd know how I became a Trump supporter.

Cliff Note version is following his Twitter while I technically worked for him. Then I became FULL Q'Anon. So, I was against the "cabal". So the Epstein files change a lot for me...

The polling is real and consistent. The poll questions are professionally prepared and are not improperly worded. If any were perhaps you can cite the poll and the improperly worded question. Yeah, that's not going to happen.  You've got nothing but bullshit and made up stories. Hell even the White House's internal polling shows how unpopular trump is polling. Otherwise we would have heard about it.  And you've been corrected on this before but still choose to misrepresent the facts about gas prices.  Biden did not start the war in Ukraine that caused gas prices to spike. Nor was Biden anyway responsible for post-COVID supply chain shortages that drove up all prices. However trump did start this illegal, ill-conceived, ill-managed war against Iran and can't figure out how to get oil flowing again through the Strait. CDL = Can Do Lies.

to end the threat of a nuclear bomb in the hands of Iran and all of their terrorist surrogates around the world.  Every president since Reagan has faced this threat and no one before Trump had the balls to do anything about it. You might say that the previous presidential cowards left him holding the bag.  Trump has beach balls between his legs, while other past presidents are still looking for theirs.

Except for trump's claim that Iran's ability to produce a nuclear weapon was supposedly obliterated by the June, 2025 air strike. So which is it? Regardless, we did have a 2015 nuclear program agreement with Iran, the JCPOA, signed by US, China, Russia, UK, France, Germany and the EU that trump blew up in 2018.  With some work that 10 year agreement could have been extended. You lie just like your 'dear leader'. You have beach balls between your ears.

Present this "War" to our allies, get a temperature of the how and the when. But he gutted or demoted all the intelligence needed and we got stuck with Jesus boy Hegseth. Gotta say this, trump is the only president dumb enough to listen to Netanyahu and MBS. He got suckered or played.
Now, how's it going so far...Iran is holding on too their enriched uranium, the regime is still intact....and their military arsenal isn't totally depleted..
Shame, all his brains, are in his balls now

That's a big if and a big assumption. Unfortunately, I suspect that energy prices will remain high because trump, who was dumb enough to start a war with no consideration given to how Iran would fight back and hold the world's oil supply hostage, is incapable of bullying his way out of this self-inflicted mess. Why would young voters support someone who lied to them about starting new wars and fixing inflation? Your 'dear leader' is not their daddy - he's yours.

it would still take months for the supply chain to open up again and prices to come down. So high oil prices on Election Day are virtually baked in.
