This is my 1st post on the TER Political/Religeon Board
I'm hoping that this board invites members to voice their views without stirring up problems
I know there are Obama haters out there
My opinion is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion
Seeing that I'm quite a Liberal Democrat
I guess my nature is to appreciate this type of President his decision making, personality, style, & wit
Here's a link to something I received from MoveOn

http://pol.moveon.org/insurance_execs/?id=17290-6377908-75xqH1x&t=1

I believe President Obama's intentions are mainly good & he's put a lot of hard work in trying making a changes in America for the better
The Bush Administration hurt so many Americans Lives
I DO think President Obama's advisers tend misinform him a great deal
If I were asked a billion questions in interviews about so many things I think I'd fall waaaaaaay short of being 100% accurate..

...One has to admit that Obama does publically speak more than Bush ever did
Obama is a hell of a lot smarter than Ol' Bush

Ex-President Bush spoke/speaks a vocabulary from Webster's Hee Haw Dictionary-LOL

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt being your first time and all. You need to reread your post a few times. You're trying to be nice and see if everyone can get along, then you throw out Obama haters, MoveOn.org, Bush is basically an idiot. Now picture yourself at a cocktail party. You have guests that are both right, left and center, and you blurt out the above. What do you think is going to happen? So reread your post, do a little editing, and come back tomorrow

is playing the more suave and urbane style. His name and multi-ethnicity, appeals to a multi-cultural population. Bush played the "ah shawks" I don't know how to spell "nucular", and "that's funny math" country pumpkin kinda of guy. Both are actors so one has to peer through the veneer and look at actions.

Be realistic, beyond the pomposity of President Obama's Attorney General, has the war on terror changed much? I heard Sec. of State Clinton tonight make a case for invading Pakistan. Obama has retained Sec of Defense Robert Gates, Bernake is still incharge of the Fed. Want me to go on? $15 billion dollars is being invested in Guam for relocation of the marines from Okinawa. This was originally proposed under Clinton, financed under Bush and will be built by Obama.

Foreclosures are still occuring. Obama's plan was smoke and mirrors. A ploy a prop to disguise his true actions.

PEACE

That bastard BO gravitated to the most corrupt vile democrat political machine in the country, Chicago.  His federal spending policies are not sustainable and are holding the USA in this recession.  He's doing the opposite of what Ronald Reagan did.....In everything.  That bastard BO is a disaster.  He's worse than I feared!!!

As far as Bush goes, he scored higher on the GRE than John Kerry.  And crazyman Algore is dumber than Bush too.  Algore flunked out of seminary and dropped out of law school.

I remember a Saturday Night Live sketch where Phil Hartman played Reagan... in public it was all "Well... " but behind closed doors he was a hard hearted task master who had a steel trap mind.  A funny sketch.

But I don't really think Bush was acting... I'm sorry, but I truly believe the man was clueless.  I also believe if it weren't for 9/11 he would have been ousted in a landslide after his first term.

Both GW and his dad GHW had big blind spots and blew fantastic opportunities.

I can only hope that another Reagan rises from the ashes but I don't see anyone that can fill his shoes.

I never got the promotion to Sainthood that Reagan has received.  The man has streets and airports named after him!  I was never even fond of him as an actor. Here's a bit of trivia... Initially he was slated to star as Rick in Casablanca.  Can you see that becoming one of the greatest movies of all time with him in the lead role?

So please, tell me... what did he do to deserve an "A" in your ranking?

He was THE MAN.  The Gipper had courage.  He stuck to his message because he believed in...AMERICA. He educated America....and the world too.
He truly believed in free market economics and 20 MILLION NEW JOBS WERE CREATED! And he beat the Soviet Union.  The Gipper said Nieat (NO in english) or something like that to Gorby in Iceland. And Gorby pooped and peed in his pants.  Reagan beat the Soviets without firing a shot.  And everyone else up till then was talking about peaceful coexistence. Reagan outspent the Soviets in Star Wars and bankrupt the Soviet Union.

The Gipper slashed taxes as part of the free market revolution and that was a big shot in arm to the economy.

But unfortunately, Just like Barry Goldwater and William F. Buckley Jr., Reagan is only human.

Just like WFB, the Gipper had a mediocre son.  Christopher Buckley can't come close to filling his dad's shoes and Ronald Reagan Jr is an even bigger bust.  But that's life.

he provides written insight to the innner workings of a Presidency. The public perception may be that President Bush was not too smart, that is a mistake he says, to make that assumption. President Bush wanted us to underestimate him. AS John Dean stated: the Presidency is a one man show, and he calls the shots. Period. Dick Cheney everyone serves at the pleasure and whims of the Presidency, and dont' forget that.

President Bush was damn smart. When looking at a Presidency or I should say candidate; I look at who is backing him, because those are the people the President is beholding to. Everything else, the suit, the seal, the helicopter, the teleprompter is all part of the show to masqerade the backstage where the real action takes place.

The most troubling aspect of President Obama has always been, and still is for me, who are his backers i.e. his money and power guys. President Bush had oil and construction guys backing him, and I like those guys. Obama has a bunch of murky characters.

high inflation, Iranian hostage crisis, Russian tanks across Afghanistan, Angola. Reagan cleaned up a foreign policy fiasco and domestic economic chaos.

However, what I remember most of President Reagan most of all is the pride I felt when wearing my Army greens. Before Reagan become Commander-in-Chief, the old Army guys would tell me how during the Carter years, drugs were rampant, discipline was non-existent, equipment and weapons were from the Korean War. Little details such as shining your boots, no one paid attention to and no one cared and in the military it's all about details. Not paying attention to details is what gets you killed.

President Reagan made the military again, into a lean mean fighting machine. The US military is stilll living off the investments, Reagan made in the 1980's. The Clinton adminstration and the American people directly benefited from those investments.
