PPP Should have been done with proper over-sight the first time as it should be done now.
Nothing wrong with taking a PPP Loan if you need it. One of the 3 Companies I am involved
with qualified easily in the first round, my bank called me to ask if we were applying. I told
the person NO, we really don't need. We qualify again. I won't take money I don't need and
hope that it goes to an entity that does need it. I am always concerned when legislation
get passed in Bills that are 5000 plus pages than nobody in Congress even read. It was
Political Theater to get (well buy) votes. And Creating a $500 Billion Dollar Slush fund for
Sec. of Treasury MnUCHIN was not my idea of well constructed legislation. Money should
not only be targeted for those who need it but also come with Independent Oversight.
The Banks Love this stuff, they generate 100's of Million if not Billions in Fees. Does BOA
or CHASE (Name the bank) Really need anymore Govt. Handouts? What do you think?

Do you really believe that Nancy  Pelosi is a Socialist.  This was the bill she promoted.  This is not a Socialist program.  Its being done to save jobs for working Americans. If not for this, I would have had to lay off 25% of my workers, people with families and children.  Are you suggesting I should have turned down this LOAN and fired them?   To get the second draw they are offering now, a small business has to prove that their gross revenues were down by more than 25% in 2020 when compared to 2019.  

 
The first PPP draw was calculated only on the  gross payroll, leaving business owners to absorb the other employee-related costs.  The second draw will include funds to cover the employer's contribution to payroll taxes and the costs of benefits such  as Health Insurance.  Its a little more comprehensive and will allow more people to keep their jobs.  For me, it means I will get about 15% more than I did on the first draw to take care of my employees and make sure I don't have to let any of them go.  

 
If you are so smart about business, please explain to the class how you keep all of your employees working when revenues are down 25% or more?  I think a lot of guys here would like to hear how to do that.  Or were you just talking out your ass as usual?  It never ceases to amaze me how stupid you make yourself look when it comes to business with no help from anyone else.  You just open your mouth and prove you are clueless.

Simply put, could you pay all your expenses and debt payments from your earning (and, do not confuse this with cash flow etc.). So your first DUTY is not be a zombie company in the first place. On top of that, a healthy company keeps cash and assets reserve that can they use in tough times (or borrow against). I will guarantee, your were running a zombie or at risk company before Pandemic. So getting PPP money helped you cover up your own poor doing or being in a business that is sham of a business that is not worth having a business.

There were many businesses that did NOT take the ppp money and are doing well; and yes they have payroll to take care of.

BTW, I am okay with you having a zombie company and using corporate socialism to survive! But here are two very critical hypocrisies, which you are doing, that I abhor:  

1. When a poorly run business fails you dont blame the business and whole hardheartedly support corporate socialism. But when John Doe fails you accuse them of not managing their life right and blame them for being poor and for asking for help, and cry socialism! Do you see the acute hypocrisy here? In this country what we have is "Socialism for the rich; and capitalism for the poor." Hope you are able to grasp that.

2. You claim you took the ppp money to 'save' your employees by protecting their paycheck. But here is the real truth: You 'saved' them to save your OWN business and your own earnings. And, there is NO nobility in it. You acted to save your own ass by using govt money, and then saying oh I did it for my employees!!! fuck that! By the way, advanced countries except ours have social nets good enough to take care of people including healthcare so when crisis comes they are taken care of without having to PAY YOU - so called business owner who owns and runs a sick company. This is one reason you righties, successfully keep socialism for yourselves only and NOT for the masses - so you can exploit their vulnerability to your selfish advantage and cover up your own inability to run a healthy business.
