Oh, I forgot to whom I am replying to. Forgive me, I have been on hiatus for some time and assumed you would be smarter this time around.

There are multiple other things wrong with your post but I just awoke and I honestly don't have the strength to address them.

People get laid off.  I'm not going to claim to know why but companies rethink stuff at the end of the year and take action.  Happens every year.

Sure the "new legislation" hasn't been passed yet, but the huge corporate tax cut to 20% is a sure thing and the worst that could happen is it goes to 22% in conference.  Passage before year end is almost certain.  So corporations know a big tax cut is baked into their 2018 financials and they can plan accordingly.  Why do you think the Dow and other indexes are at an all-time high?
That said, the GE cuts have zero to do with the general economic outlook, as the company has been a horrible under-performer and is re-structuring.  What Hwy also failed to note is that most of the GE jobs to be lost are overseas.
Those of us who hoped your hiatus would see you return a tad smarter this time are disappointed.  You and Hwy are officially Dumb and Dumber.

You both have reading comprehension issues and think I'm agreeing with you when I'm actually shitting on your heads. It must be all of each other's splooge seeping into various cavities.  Please go bathe.

Not quite, but pretty fucking close.

The layoffs by GE are a desperate attempt to cut costs and to shore up their stock which is by far the worst performer in the DOW, I can only imagine how high the DOW would be without GE dragging it down. Even dumbass Jake was aware of that. This is not a trend by companies making layoffs at this time of year, nor does it have a thing to do with the tax bill. This is one action by one company that Hadji tried to turn into something more.

And that is our new future....Plus now that Utah had open some Federal land, I'm sure through hell and high water, they'll find coal there or die from black lung trying, but they'll try to find something....

that reported coal miners were refusing retraining opportunities because they believed coal mining jobs were coming back. Poor smucks. At least Hillary didn't lie to them.

According to Republicans, they should not be.    With all that tax money saved, they should be able to keep their workers.     Is that not the whole idea of cutting corporate tax by almost 50%.   It is Jobs, keep and create new.

Just like stock markets forecasts, big corporations do also, especially a company like GE.
