Yes! With all the arguments I've heard on the right....

about the justification to not consider a nomination from Obama, the real argument boils down to, if the Gipper were were alive today, and in his right mind, would he stand be what he said back then? Or, would he be a hypocrite, and change his tune.

Even retired Reagan appointee to the SC, Sandra Day O'Conner, weights in against the Senate Republicans and presidential candidates.

to be clear, I don't hate Obama (libs hate, humans disagree), I just find him, and his cohorts to be a rich source of stuff to make fun of - they are wrong on just about everything

All the politicos and legal scholars (e.g. Jeffrey Toobin) on CNN have virtually all said if the situation was reversed, a Dem senate would be doing EXACTLY the same thing.

I think it makes it most difficult for Rubio, who wants to be seen as the new Reagan!   ;)

Of course that's what many of the nominee's do. Pull out Reagan when it suits them, when in reality they're nothing like him!  ;)

Whether the Democrats would or wouldn't is not really the issue. The issue is how it appears to the average Democrat and Independent, and if it energizes them to vote for a Democrat vs. a Republican! And, the Democrats can point to Reagan, and how they voted on and approved his nominee. The Republican can say it's different, but the average person will not see it, or view it as being substantially different. And, the Democrats can point to Sandra Day O'Conner, who, most people regard much more highly than the Republican run Congress!  ;)

I just dont view this as a game changer with regards to how R's handle it.

If I were advising them, I would tell them to let Obama make a pick, have the R's vet the shit out of him/her, expose their flaws, and vote them down.

But if they keep the current course, that's fine too.

I really don't think SDO's feelings on this is going to sway the electorate at all.
