Nuclear is EXTREMELY...

Last week they were saying this healthcare bill was great. Americans would grow to love it once we 'understood' what was in it.

Last week: 49% to 40% called the passage of the bill a 'good thing'.

This week: Half call passage of the bill "a bad thing" and 47% "a good thing."

As more details come out, it isn't going to help the bills proponents.

Good also to see a majority found the Democrat tactics an abuse of power.

Obama & the Dems approval ratings have gone up since HC reform. Go to real clear politics.com for an aggregate listing of BHO's job approval rating.  A plurality approve--not great, but not dismal either.

Lastly, what are you so afraid of ?

Btw----I have excellent ideaf for deficit reduction------maybe your job should be cut----shouldn't you be working, instead of loafing & complaining, like those on the left you rail against ?!---------LMAO !

Thank God for the Democratic Party. Without them, we'd have no social security, medicare, medicaid, child labor laws, work safety laws, unemployment benefits, clean air laws, clean water laws, and on and on and on.

Health care reform is just the latest legislation that will protect our citizens from predatory and reckless business practices. The Republicans argue that the market will take care of everything, but that was disproved over 100 years ago, and it was a Republican, Teddy Roosevelt, who led the charge against big business abuse at that time.

The old 'either we get the Dem plan or we have nothing' doesn't fly. There are plenty of legitimate ideas for taking care of the helpless.

It is taking care of the clueless that is irritating.

Social Security - bankrupt
Medicare - bankrupt
Post Office - bankrupt
Amtrak - bankrupt
Air/Water?  Did it get dirtier this past decade? no.

I love when the indoctrinized college kids come with their silly petitions to my neighborhood. It is always fun bursting their Utopian bubble with reality.

Why can't the Left propose policies that will encourage entrepreneurship and capital investment in the private sector? Why is it they alway want bigger government and less liberty?

Just say 'No' to Euro-socialism. A pathetic region that can't take care of itself and is slowly dwindling away. The Clueless need to stop sucking on the government's teet.

If it wasn't for the Left, we'd be energy independent now via nuclear power, clean coal, and our own oil.  (For those not familiar, the U.S., Australia, and Canada control the majority of the usuable uranium deposits.) Just think how that would alter our foreign policy. But that requires second-stage thinking, something the Left doesn't seem able to get to since remaining at first stage gives them warm fuzzies.

Warm fuzzies don't create serious private sector job growth, energy independence, or stronger national defense.

Safe. (Hey WW! ;) )

We've beein running hundreds of reactors over here for years (NAVY!!!). Three Mile Island is an example of how inherently SAFE US reactor design is even when the keystone kops are at the wheel.

The environmental effects were neglible and that is verifiable through several well respected and independent sources.

The issue is disposal. The amazing thing is their are techniques being developed for sapping even more of the radiation out of still fissionable but not necessarily usable materials.

The disposal question can be answered. I have my own ideas for that.

Nevertheless, nuclear is SAFE.

"More people were killed at Chappaquidick than in all the nuclear accidents in the U.S."?

Just because there was an accident at a nuclear site, doesn't mean there were fatalities, or offsite contamination. Read your lists again.

Congress and the President made sure that it included THEM!

Oh ... wait. They didn't.

It's good enough for US but NOT good enough for THEM.

Their are risks with any endeavor but nuclear is not the boogeyman many make it out to be.

The record speaks for itself, nuclear is completely safe with competent design and supervision. I stand by my statement that waste disposal is more the issue than anything. Shit needs to be offloaded off this rock....aim it at the sun. That's recycling.

Nuclear is safe.

Geo-Thermal is great too.....

I always find myself thinking about how we could tap the Yellowstone caldera for energy, relieving the inevitable buildup of a guaranteed global catastrophe.

Call me NUTZ!!!!!

A bomb yet detonated is potential energy to be harnessed. Talk about two birds and one stone.

We really need to get back on the road to FUSION. Not the cold bullshit. The HOT stuff, contained by computer controlled magnetic fields.

Progress baby!

Fusion = "clean" electricty and cheap hydrogen from sea water

Cheap hydrogen + (substantial) investment in infrastructure delivery system  = clean and mobile energy.

Infrastructure is not as simple as most people think since Hydogen is so light. It's not nearly as efficient to transport as natural gas.

The French may have forgotten which end of a rifle to look down but their energy hat is on straight.
