McConnell reassured Republican members of the upper chamber they could run negative ads against Trump if he becomes the nominee and it threatens their re-election, reports The New York Times.

It won't work and people will remember they supported this clown.

Old news.

Let's see what the GOP does to distance themselves NOW, if anything.

With the flood of prominent republicans abandoning their parties candidate....
With Trumps inability to filter his thoughts....
With Trumps ego refusing to let him lose to a frumpy old woman....
With Trumps greed , thus fear his self funding campaign hoax ( loan) won't be replayed...

I give it a couple more weeks before the party leadership sets up a somewhat face saving scenario where they supposedly persuade him to drop out. He will be able to blame it on a rigged system and claim to be dropping out in order to assure crooked Hillary never becomes president .

The party , claiming there is no time for an other convention will turn to Kasich , who has artfully positioned himself to come riding in on his white steed ( of course it will be a " white" horse ) to save the day.

All the non Trump republicans will come flocking back bringing duped independents with them.

Actually , I'm beginning to think this plan was formulated once Trump seized enough delegates to win the nomination . It's why the Kasich skipped the convention even though it was in his own state

Why Kasich & not Cruz ? Cruz lodged the 2nd most popular votes/delegates after Trump. How do you think disgruntled Trump & Cruz supporters will feel if Kasich is the nominee ? You don't think many of them will sit the election out ?

As to Trump dropping out, there are already GOP party apologists cleaning up/rationalizing his "2nd amendment remarks". If a statement like that doesn't pressure the GOP to pressure him out, then nothing will.

There could be a chance that Trump drops out, but after today, those chances are slim to none.

Two reasons
1. He's as unelectable as Trump
2. Party establishment hate Cruz and they will be the ones determining the last minute replacement .

As far as wishful thinking. Far from it . I want Trump to be on the ballot.
Like our President and a former republican I desire a healthy Republican Party that has the ability to govern , not simply divide and obstruct. This might be the only chance for that to happen.

The limited exposure Kasich would have would be to his advantage . There won't be time to discover just what a far right winger he actually is.

So hang in there Mr Trump !

...such an avid environmentalist that he literally dumpster dives for recyclables.  He's well off and doesn't do it for the money; he's doing his part to save the Earth.

People used to complain about his dumpster diving so the cops harassed him until they found out he's a Beverly Hills resident.  People still complain so now the cops harass him because they say the trash belongs to the city of Beverly Hills and he's "stealing" from the city.
