Earlier this week, Gavin Newsom declared that all State employees working remotely must start showing up for work at the office.  Since CA has a ballooning workforce like the feds, Newsom is taking a page from Trump's playbook.  It's actually refreshing to see a Democrat willing to copy to good idea, even though it might have originated from a Republican.

Beginning June 17, 2024, Gov. Newsome ordered state employees to return to the office for two days a week.

Gov. Newsome's latest directive extends the requirement to four days a week. I assume one day a week still remains work from home.

Of particular note is the last sentence of the article, 'It also argued Trump’s efforts to shrink the federal workforce could redound to California’s benefit, saying the elimination of federal jobs would “create opportunities to fill unmet needs in the State workforce.” ', which I interpret that to mean the state would hire more employees.

farther to the right in the last election, I guess having more workers surviving off of the government teat is another plan B for keeping the state Blue if the election corruption is finally exposed and dealt with.
