Experience is NOT measured by years in Washington, if it were, then the two senators from Hawaii (Akaka & Inouye) should be running for president, as they have a combined 80 years or so in the senate...

Obama is the only candiate running who can end all this red state vs. blue state, conservative vs. liberal, Democrat vs. Republican divide that is crippling the political process today...

Their ability to prove absurdity with absurd logic. Don't recall ever seeing Obie giving a single solution to any issues. Only seen, some unmeasurable crap of hope and change while lying about everything including his birth being an outcome of Selma Civil Rights March where his Kenyan father and Kansan mother met but Obie was born 4 years before that.

How will he end lib v. con divide? He is the most liberal Prez candidate ever. More so than McGovern or Carter. How will he reconcile Iraq, with those who want to stay vs. leave? Pull halfway out? How about abortion? How will he remove the divide between choice vs. life. How will he reconcile those who want lower taxes? How will he reconcile those who want less government. He can't. It's BS and the saps are shoveling it in their yaps.

The man said he was going to end world poverty. He is obviously a charlatan and should be ashamed of himself. Anyone who believes he can do even part of what he says are way way too gullible and in a sane world would not even be allowed to vote.

Mosse, my issue with you is not the fact that you are a lefty. It's the fact that you are a partisan. Partisans of either major political party rarely have any independent thoughts, they simply look for others to validate their particular party's line.

You have never made a post that doesn't toe the democratic party line, that's why I make the kool aid references. If you were a righty, spewing nothing but Sean Hannity quotes I would make the same remark.

Moose, I have come out in defense of Bill Clinton, my loathing of the religious right would rival the furthest of the lefties, and I am firmly in support of a woman's right to choose on abortion. When have you ever supported anything Republican? Or is your opinion that the Repulicans have never done anything postive? If that is the case than I rest my case. You are a partisan of the worst kind, if not then prove me wrong.

I very much want to agree with you Moose, but I'm still holding back.

It's not so much the amount of experience, it's the relevant experience, and Senator Obama is still coming up short.  A great speechifier, to be sure.  But so was Cuomo, and i don't recall a Cuomo presidency.  So was RWReagan, and I do recall a Reagan presidency, and in most cases [and I suspect you feel likewise] i'd perfer not to.

For Senator Obama as Prez, i regretably fall back upon a Scotch Verdict -- case not proven.  But the jury is still out.

Next time around, maybe? Or depends upon how badly and how frequently McCain shoots himself in the feet?

Also, I do NOT believe in affirmative action, or quotas...

I support the death penalty....

That non-sense about Obama being the most left comes from Newsmax, FOX, & talk radio....He & Clinton are practically identical on most issues (95%), Obama is NO Howard Dean lefty..

So, he's for abortion rights, most Democrats are...John McCain is strongly pro-life, as most Republicans are.....John McCain has ALWAYS voted "yea" to confirm the most FAR right Supreme Court justices (Scalia, Bork (though he was defeated), Thomas, Roberts, Ailito) - not exactly a centrist when it comes to judges is he?.....

John McCain doesn't have the temperment & intelligence to be POTUS.....He's very far right on the judge issue, admits to not knowing much about the economy, supports this disaster in Iraq....

I don't read Newsmax, I only watch Britt Hume on Fox, and I listen to tapes in my car. I do podcast Hugh Hewitt and Dennis Prager once in a while, but not often. I read Drudge, and the NYT, Harpers, The Atlantic, and NR. But I don't buy much of what I read about politics in the liberal press, and only a fool would say they are not in the tank for the Democrats. (I know Fox is in the tank for Republicans. One out of six networks is still not fair or balanced.)

I used to drink the liberal press Kool-Aid until I compared what I read to life as it is lived by most of the people I know.

Now to your point: Because he's not wwaaayyy more liberal than Hillary, doesn't mean he's not a man of the left does it? If that's the only measure then why not compare him to Fidel, and then say he's a moderate? Although, where would he differ from Fidel?

Can you name one position where he is to the right of H.Dean?

Where is Obama on guns? Taxes? National security? Is he for the Patriot Act? And before the loons start hooting, if the Patriot Act is so heinous, why hasn't the ACLU found someone who has been damaged by it and filed suit? Why not? They can't find one person damaged by this scourge of liberty? One?

The coup de grace is this: Obama has been endorsed by Moveon.org and DailyKooks. What more proof that he's a lefty do you need than that?

Regarding the judges, McCain has never voted against a SCJ since he believes it is the President's right to appoint the judges he wants. That is one of the perks of winning the election.

BTW, I'm no McCain fan. He wants to import more unskilled foreign labor (the Dems do, too) and thereby keep driving down the wages of working class people. Conservatives believe in the market, which will set the wages for shitty jobs so someone is willing to do them instead of bringing in people from outside who are willing to work for next to nothing and then send the dollars out of this country. If this keeps up, there will be a class war in this country within 50 yrs that will make the Civil War look like patty cake.

Too much of inspirational rhetoric and too little on substance. Moreover, when it comes to addressing problems and solutions, go to my website and read just doesn't cut it for me. If one spends significant intellectual time thinking about an issue and how to solve it, they would know it cold and will be able to answer any questions.

In addition, Obie's supporters seem to be fanatics of kind or another, that doesn't fit with my thinking. Much too many fanatical variations to list. His supporters have made him up to be someone other than human being and I am always skeptical about living messiah's, legends, and extraterrestrials.

I also resent fanatic and partisan academics and scientists pushing their fanaticism, illogical and unfounded opinions on the public to manipulate public thinking.

Comparing Obie to Gandhi, MLK, Desmund Tutu, and his wife to Jackie Kennedy is bit much to take and Obie seems to revel in it. No where close IMHO.

What you did was state, incorrectly I might add that Obama supported the Second Ammendment and then posted a link that plainly stated that your hero actually supported a total ban on handguns in our nations capital.

Your statement that neither Clinton or Obama will not succeed in consficating firearms from lawabiding citizens rings hollow in the face of both of their anti gun rhetoric. They may not succeed in consficating our weapons, but it certainly won't be for lack of trying. It does appear that the rights of the law abiding citizens of Washington DC to keep and bear arms is already in serious jeopardy.

Just like NO Republican will win California, New York, Illinois, no Democrat will do well in the south...

Both Nixon and Reagan managed to do quite well in those states, whether McCain will do well in these states remains to be seen.I can't speak to to VERY blue states of Ca and NY, but I think McCain has an excellent chance in Illinois, Obama's home state where he is very unpopular outside the black community.

OTOH Clinton managed to split the south in 1992 and did the same in 1996.

Never say never

Reality sucks. When one looks at the primaries and look at how Obie is winning and be honest about it, you will see different electoral map.  Many of the states Obie has won were caucuses which is not a true measure of GE outcome. Throw in historical facts, none of the midwestern states have gone democrat in eons. Grand victories in the south, driven by black votes. Granted blacks are a significant % of democrats in the south equaling 20% to 30% of democrats. Now take that % into the overall population of the state in GE and it shrinks by a large margin, that means, blacks can't propel Obie into victory in these states.

Combine that with independents and disgruntled HRC democrats (typical whites), they will either stay home or vote for McCain.

Then, there is Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida which are traditional swing states and throw in Minnesota (considered to be swing state in 2008) which Obie has to win at least two and there you have it.

Thrown in Reverend. Wright, TUCC, and many false stories of Obie starting from his birth story and Selama.

Wild card in all this is Rezko and the trial is progressing and by May/June time frame lot of the information would be out. There is an ironic pattern in Federal trials, for some reason, the accused seems to be more interested in saving their own skin. Don't really why? Throw in Fitzpatrick who prosecuted Scooter Libby as the lead Federal Prosecutor. You have disaster waiting to happen.

Moose may not like any of this and may have plausible argument for all of it but the democrats shooting themselves not in their foot but their brains.

McCain would end being the luckiest man on earth by getting elected in November. Reality sucks!

McCains' flipflopping and his open-ended committment to an unstated and probably unacheivable goal in Iraq will undermine our national security - the Chinese will not invade, but merely buy us out at a nickel on the dollar.

Clinton is an opportunistic Nurse Ratched.  The best thing Obama has going for him is that he hasn't fucked up (no, I don't care what his preacher said, any more than I cared what Nancy Reagan or the Bush girls had to say) seriously yet, and will almost certainly fire more entrenched lobbyists, and give us a few months breathing room before we have to deal with a new set of lobbyists.

I never said a Republican didn't win CA, NY, etc...Sure, in the PAST they have....Just like JFK & LBJ won Texas...

Actually the south was solidly Democrat until (and this was way before my time) the incident in 1962 when JFK had his brother/Attorney General (w/the assistance of about 500 National Guard), helped enroll a black student (can't remember his name) in Ole Miss...

Anyway, the CURRENT trends having CA, NY, IL, as solid Democratic areas...Just like the south is strongly Republican......CA/IL haven't gone Republican since 1988 & New York hasn't gone Republican since 1984.....

Look at past elections results (esp. in recent elections) from the link, Democrats do well in big urban cities/counties, while Republicans dominate the south....Also, the site attached does the OPPOSITE, they have Democrats=red & Republicans=blue.....

I never said Obama was a joke. If he is a joke, he's a joke that's not funny. I find it scary that so many people would buy the vague, pseudo-poetic crap he's slinging. "We are the ones we've been waiting for." WTF does that mean? I find it scary because we (not me) elected BHO's friend and mentor and guide as governor in MA. I tried to make sense out of Deval Patrick's speeches and couldn't do it either. Everyone I talked to couldn't make heads or tails of what Patrick said. No specifics, other than he'd cut real estate taxes. (He hasn't. Surprised?) Well, two years in he's got nothing done, for us, but he did sign a big book deal for himself in NYC. He is only here looking for his main chance, which is he wants to get casino gambling in. Fuck everything else, that's gonna be the big score for Deval Patrick. Not us. Him.

There is nothing to be gained by taking a chance on Obama. I would much rather HRC. We know we'd get fucked with the Clinton's but at least we'd know how. BHO is a complete unknown.
